In Yo-kai Watch: Wibble Wobble, both his Lightside and Shadowside forms are a Rank B Yo-kai of the Eerie tribe.

Biology[]

Anzen-bouya is a Yo-kai that resembles a cardboard picture of a human child. He wears blue overalls, a red striped shirt, and a yellow cap.

His Shadowside form is Nitanita-san, which is a macabre version of himself.

In this form, his appearance changes to that of a slim and tall humanoid whose skin is silver in color and whose facial expression consists of two red eyes and a wide, ghoulish grim. He does not exhibit any changes to his clothing except that it appears to be melting away. He carries a caution sign with the picture of a will-o-wisp.

In battle, Nitanita-san can magically summon dangerous and hazardous objects or machines with his sign. This involves him swinging it forward, before the symbol changes to the shape of what he is about to use.

Anzen-bouyaPuni

Etymology[]

Nitanita-san (Japanese: ニタニタさん Nitanita-san) is taken from nitanita (Japanese: ニタニタさん "widely grinning"), with "-san" added, which is a respectful honorific used for people of higher or equal social standing.

Anzen-bouya (Japanese: 安全坊や Anzen-bōuya) is taken from anzenbou (Japanese: 安全帽 hard hat), and Tobidashi-bōuya (Japanese: 飛び出し坊や lit. "Jumping Out Boy"), one of the nicknames given to traffic signs in the form of a young child jumping out, which in Japan are commonly used in streets where children often play, to alert drivers of the increased risk of a child unexpectedly jumping onto the street. Said signs can also be seen in various Yo-kai Watch video games.

Trivia[]

  • Anzen-bouya is the only Yo-kai who was the star of an episode who was never met by Summer, Bruno, Cole, and/or Tate.
  • Anzen-bouya's design could probably be based on Manabu-kun from Tomodachi Game.
