Arachnevil strongly resembles Arachnus and Arachnia, the color scheme, however, is noticeably different: Arachnevil's hair and hakama are colored red, his kimono has a dark shade of gray, his kataginu is black, and the markings in his face are entirely black. The other most noticeable difference is his fairly long, straight black oni-like horns that jut out from his forehead.
Arachnevil can exclusively be found on Patrol Missions on VIP patrol in the VIP room when the player links both versions of Yo-kai Watch Blasters (Moon Rabbit Crew update only).
Being traded (Yo-kai Watch Blasters):"The blood of Oni runs in my veins... Are you prepared to handle me!?"
Freed from the Crank-a-kai: "I won't say it's bad that you got me... Let's just say, "keep your distance"!"
Blasters House:
"Heh. You can leave it to me. You won't regret it."
"I'm looking forward to the next fight already."
"I'll show you my true powers during the next battle."
Blasters T camp: "When is the next battle? I thirst for combat!"
Etymology[]
"Arachnevil" is a portmanteau of Arachnus (or Arachne), and evil.
Origin[]
While "Onigumo" doesn't have a mythological basis, it is the name of a species of common orb-weaver spider, Araneus ventricosus.
Trivia[]
Arachnevil's "random" nicknames in Yo-kai Watch 3 are: Webber, Spidey, Parker, and Alfie.
"Spidey" and "Parker" are both likely references to Spider-Man and Peter Parker from the Spider-Man franchise.
So far, this is the first and the only Yo-kai to change their Soultimate name for every main series instalment after their introduction. Arachnevil's Soultimate move was named 3 times:
A mistranslation is present in Yo-kai Watch Blasters for Fiend Skill. The skill simply says "massive attack increase at 1 hp" rather than saying their HP drops to 1 and then increases attack power. This was fixed in Yo-kai Watch 3.
The color of the bottom of his black kataginu is inconsistent with it being light grey in artwork and orange in-game.
