The Ultra BBQ Cross Road Quiz (Japanese: USA横断歩道ウルトラクイズ USA ōdan hodō urutorakuizu) is a mechanic introduced in Yo-kai Watch 3 to properly reward using the crosswalks. It is only used in BBQ.
This event is sometimes activated when the player uses the crosswalk after waiting for the signal to turn green. It either happens when crossing correctly or incorrectly five or ten times (with correct and incorrect crosses counting separately). It starts when the title appears on screen and Runsure arrives to give the quiz. Answering correctly will give the player a good item, while an incorrect answer gets the player a lesser item. The answers are never in a set order when being displayed so if the player gets the same question, you must be careful as the correct answer might not be in the same place as last time.
Sometimes, the event is also activated if the player runs across the street without waiting for the signal to turn green. If you correctly answer the question, you still get an item, but if you answer incorrectly, you will either have your Yo-kai's HP fall, or battle a team of powerful Yo-kai.
In order to access the quiz quickly, there in an exploit the player can use. By pressing the button at a crossing and waiting until the light turns green, if the player then walks out onto the road and back, rotating around the traffic light, they can quickly activate the red exclamation point of crossing the road when the light is off, therefore also causing the quiz to occur faster. You will know the process is working when the exclamation point appears above the player's head, otherwise, the circle of rotation around the pole may need to be larger. The only downside of this method is that answering the question wrong has worse forfeits.
