Bear Boy: Origins is a Quest in Yo-kai Watch 2 that can be started by talking to Bear inside of his house in Blossom Heights. It is recommended to be completed around Level 8.

Quest

Bear asks the protagonist if they saw Victorious Mask V which they say they didn't. Though he is sad that Victorious Mask costumes are sold out everywhere but his mother probably wouldn't let him get one anyway. He instead decides he can make one himself and states they should bring Eddie along too. The protagonist agrees to help make him a costume and Bear shows that he got a face mask from his dad's work. He states that the next part of the costume is the belt. The protagonist thinks their dad doesn't have a tough enough looking belt but thinks they can find one in Superior Style.

The protagonist goes to Superior Style, asking about the belt. The cashier hands over a suitable belt, saying they can have it for free as she thinks it's so ugly no one will want to buy it. They return to Bear's house, handing over the belt. Bear states next they need a sword, he asked Eddie to help but he refused. Bear suggests Whatta Find. The protagonist heads there at night and asks for a blunt sword. The shopkeeper says they have loads and the protagonist finds one, albeit aside a few sharp swords to their surprise. They return to Bear's house, handing over the sword.

Whisper suggests they find a Yo-kai to give Bear a heroic boost. He suggests Mochismo. After Mochismo is befriended, the protagonist returns to find Bear is finished with his costume. The protagonist summons Mochismo to boost up Bear just a little bit. Bear proclaims himself to be Bear Boy and declares he's going to stomp every bad guy in town, running off. Whisper is worried about this, telling the protagonist to go after him.

The protagonist finds a woman outside noting how a boy ran by her so fast. She tells them he went towards the Hot Springs. The protagonist finds a boy outside the Candy Stop who saw Bear. He says he let him borrow his ball but he threw it all the way over to the Old Mansion. The protagonist asks where he went and he replies that he headed to Uptown Springdale. They then find a young girl saying how cool Bear Boy is, after asking, she tells them he jumped in the river. Whisper suggests they find a vantage point to locate Bear from with the protagonist mentioning Mount Wildwood.

On the summit, the protagonist spots something going on at Bear's house, they see Bear's mother scolding him. The protagonist and Whisper are curious what happened to cause him to get home so fast. They return to Bear's house to find Bear upset. He tells the protagonist he tried to jump off the bridge because he thought he could fly but his mother caught him. He states that even though he's strong as Bear Boy, he isn't fast enough to run from his mother but will find a way to do so.

Pre quest

• Bear is way into Victorious Mask. I should help him make a costume!

During quest

• Bear's obsessed with Victorious Mask, so we're going to make our own costumes! We need a belt, though. Maybe we can find one at Superior Style on Springdale Flower Road.
• Our quest for a Victorious Mask outfit brought us to Superior Style where I snagged a Muscle Belt for free. Now I need to give it to Bear. He's always there outside his room during the day.
• Before we look for the rest of the outfit, Whisper suggested giving Bear a boost with a Yo-kai called Mochismo. We'll need to look for him at school during the evening, it sounds like.
• When our new friend Mochismo Inspirited Bear, he turned super strong and ran off saying these weird things. Let's go find him! I bet he'll be outside his house during the day!

Quest complete

• Bear told us why his mom was so peeved. He got carried away and jumped into the river! Yikes! I hope he's learned his lesson now... But somehow I doubt it.

Guidance

• Go to Superior Style and talk to the cashier.
• Return to Bear's house.
• Go to Whatta Find at night.
• Return to Bear's house during the day.
• Befriend Mochismo. Mochismo can be found on the second floor of Springdale Elementary School at night as an ally to Mynimo and Mimikin and can be freed from the Crank-a-kai with a Red Coin. His favorite food is Rice Balls.
• Return to Bear's house during the day.
• Talk to the woman outside Bear's house by the stairs.
• Talk to the boy east of the Candy Stop.
• Go across the bridge to Uptown Springdale and talk to the young girl just south of the entrance.
• Go to Mount Wildwood Summit and interact with one of the binoculars.
• Investigate the right hand side area where Bear's House would be in Blossom Heights. An orange question mark will appear, press A on it or tap the touch screen.
• Return to Bear's room.
