Boreas (Japanese: 玄冬 Gentō) is a Rank SSS Yo-kai of the Brave tribe. He was a soldier of the Oni Tribe, and was reincarnated into Cole.

Boreas' skin is pale white, with bony hands and fingers. He wears a black, blue, and gold outfit. His hair is black with a teal ombre in the lower half.

Juno[]
Being the ruler of the Oni Tribe, Boreas and Eurus both served as Juno's knights.
Cole[]
His reincarnation; both he and Eurus share the desire to protect Summer/Juno from the likes of Overseer.
He was reincarnated as Cole to tell Juno that Saros was innocent.
Sword Bearers[]
Each of the Sword Bearers were once Yo-kai who served under his command.

Yo-kai Watch 4[]
Boreas can be befriended in Quest 054 in Yo-kai Watch 4++ post-game. The player must travel to Houkendan, talk to Olgralus, then find jump through a hidden window on the third floor of Houkendan, where they will find the Boreas statue. Once befriended, he has one heart for Cole and one empty heart.

He made a cameo in episode 37 when Cole had a vision of someone standing next to Juno.
In episode 49, it was revealed that he and Eurus, are the past lives of Cole and Bruno. Boreas and Eurus both used to serve as Juno's knights.
Etymology[]
"Gentou" (Japanese: 玄冬 Gentō) is an old-fashioned, alternate word for "winter," highlighting his connection to Cole.
Trivia[]
- A picture of a Yo-kai similar to Boreas appears in Yo-kai Watch: Forever Friends, in Alistair's study.
- In the Chinese release of Yo-kai Watch 4++, Boreas has an altered design where the eye on his chest is missing and his shoulder armour has a different appearance. This may be so it looks less like a skull.
