Camellia has a similar appearance to Blizzaria, but her hair is red, and so is her kimono and sandals. She also has a yellow obi, but it has a green band on it as well. In replacement of Blizzaria's Glacial Clip, light pink camellia flowers are on her head. She also has mint-green eyes.
Camellia has potent healing powers caused by her origin (she was born inside a Camellia flower). She is very popular and adored because of her beauty and cute nature.
Camellia first was revealed on January 30, 2016, during the 1st day of Tokaigi 2016. It was about a month later, on February 26, 2016, that she was added with Sternyan during an event, with their pull rate being increased until February 29, 2016.
She can also be freed from the Crank-a-kai with 3000 Y Money, a Special Coin, Five-Star Coin, Red Gold Coin, Puni Puni Cafe Coin, Kujira Coin, Polar Coin, Punipuni Coin, and Punipuni Yo-kai Coin.
Blizzaria first meets Camellia during a Hinamatsuri contest in EP159. At first, Blizzaria is jealous of the attention Camellia receives and is determined to beat her in the competition. However, as the competition continues, the two decide to work together to be able to reach the end. After discovering that their promised prize of meeting the emperor at the top of the Hinamatsuri stand ended up being Manjimutt, the two send him packing together. At the end of the episode, the two seem to have become friends as they are holding hands. The two later appear together in episodes such as EP210 and EP213. Onwards, the two seem very close as they are almost always grouped together.
She appears in EP159 as a competitor of a Hinamatsuri contest with Blizzaria as a fellow competitor. She later reappears in EP210 and EP213 alongside Blizzaria and Damona.
"Camellia" comes from the flower from which she was born.
"Camelia" comes from the Italian name for the camellia flower.
Origin[]
Given her Japanese name and origin, Camellia may be loosely inspired by the Furusubakinorei, a Yokai created when an old tsubaki tree (Camellia japonica) lives to an old age and it’s spirit gains the ability to separate itself from the tree. Like Camellia, said spirit takes on the form of a beautiful woman, and gains mysterious powers to trick and bewitch humans with.
Trivia[]
Camellia's "random" nicknames in Yo-kai Watch 3 are: Tsubaki, Minerva, Delia, and Tania.
The name "Tsubaki" is a direct reference to Camellia's Japanese name, "Tsubaki-hime."
