The Haunted (Japanese: 憑りつかれし者たち Yori tsukare shi-sha-tachi) is the first Chapter of Yo-kai Watch 4.

Whisper, Nate and Jibanyan are seen lazing in a room. Whisper than tries to make them go out and walk, but the other two are uninterested. Afterwards, Nate leaves the house (unwillingly) to run an errand for his Mother to buy eggs and milk from Everymart, as well as with ice cream for him and his two yo-kai partners. After buying everything using the 1000 yen he received, Whisper gets inspirited and is tormented by Hunger. He then rudely snatches his ice cream and leaves. Nate confronted the hungry Whisper and found Hungramps inspiriting him and summons Jibanyan to fight him, motivating the cat with a post battle ice cream treat. After Hungramps is defeated and Whisper regains consciousness, Nate and Jibanyan eat their ice cream, while whisper complains he ate his under Hungramps's influence. Nate then meets Bear and Eddie outside of Everymart and has a brief chat with them, but was prompted by Whisper to go home. After Nate gives his mother the eggs and milk, he was told that Katie was wandering around nearby. He then searches for Katie, but ends up finding out it was Mimikin disguising as her. Feeling frustrated, he initiates a battle with the offending Yo-kai out of retaliation. After Mimikin's defeat, he disguises himself as Katie once again before leaving and sent Nate into a trance, which disgusted the real Katie that walked by. Nate, Whisper and Jibanyan then head to Mount Wildwood as Whisper got a message about Yo-kai gathering there. They also saw Roughraff and Mochismo heading up the mountain to get a treasure. They later find Hidebat, who temporarily faints from heatstroke and he was very scared. He also explains a group Yo-kai is using the Crank-a-kai and he is too weak. After being motivated to climb the , he give Nate his medal. At the back of the line, Sandmeh says there is a chance to pull out a new Yo-kai watch. Just soon after, Manjimutt complains about three Baku who cut the queue via inspiriting. After Nate beats and befriends the Bakus, he cranks out a world key and was led by Naviwan to a mysterious door, where he fought Himoji (SS). He then goes through the door and runs into Sly's Shadowside form, meeting the Shadowside Detective Agency in the process. After learning baout whta happned in the future.
