Protect the Seals! (Japanese: 町の結界を守れ！ Machi no kekkai o mamore!) is the third Chapter of Yo-kai Watch.

Plot[]
After the events of the previous day, Nate/Katie wakes up and sees Whisper, making them realise yesterday's events weren't just a dream. Whisper says he'll be by their side 24/7 from now on, which makes the player realise they were meant to hang out with Katie/Nate today. Whisper admits they should hang out with humans too, as the player tells him they're meeting at Triangle Park later. After leaving the house, Whisper tells the player about Requests and Favors.
After meeting with Katie/Nate at Triangle Park, they appear sad. After the player asks them what happened, they admit they got into a fight with their friend because they blurted out everything they were thinking, and immensely regret it. The player asks where their friend is, and they say they're at the riverfront, heading off to apologise to their friend. The player says it's fine that they can't hang out today, After they leave, the player notes to Whisper that it's uncharacteristic for Katie/Nate to be so down, wishing they could help somehow. Whisper tells them that it was probably a Yo-kai's doing, and suggests that the player should follow them down to the river and see if they can be of assistance.
Tattletell, after Inspiriting Nate.
After arriving at the riverbank, the player can find Katie/Nate regretting what they said, with their friend Sarah/Casey sitting nearby, still angry at what they said. If Katie/Nate is talked to, Whisper will note another Inspirited boy randomly saying that a girl he's sitting with is "cute as a panda bear". Using the Yo-kai Lens on the bench opposite of them reveals the Yo-kai Tattletell. Upon confronting her, Whisper will warn that she makes the Insprited blurt out whatever comes to their minds. Tattletell then gains an interest in the player, and Inspirits them. The player complains that they have to deal with another annoying Yo-kai, and that Whisper following them was already annoying enough, wishing they can just go home and play video games. Whisper is insulted by this, as Tattletell's inspirit wears off, happy at how juicy the player's secrets are. Whisper notes Tattletell likes the player, with them asking if she'll become their friend. Tattletell happily accepts and befriends the player. The player tells Tattletell that it's her fault that Katie/Nate got into the fight in the first place, so she has to help them patch things up.
The player goes to Katie/Nate, and tells them they have something to help patch things up with their friend. They say they wish they could say the same kind of thing they did earlier, but with different thoughts. The player asks Tattletell to Inspirit them, which she does. Katie/Nate is able to apologise, and Sarah/Casey forgive them. Whisper and Tattletell are inspired by their friendship, but the player points out that if it weren't for Tattletell, they wouldn't have fought at all. As the sun starts to set, Whisper says that he felt some kind of strong vibes around town. Tattletell confesses she felt them around a man. Whisper translates it as her seeing a businessman coming out of the school, muttering about breaking four seals in town. As well, the reason she Inspirited Katie/Nate was because she felt energized after seeing him. Whisper tells the player they should investigate around town, to which the player refuses since it's getting late and they have to head home. Whisper says they can investigate tomorrow instead, which the player agrees to.
The next day, the two, along with Tattletell, rush off to the post office, and find the businessman doing something to the postbox. The player questions him, but he refuses to answer, so Whisper orders Tattletell to Inspirit him. The man starts monologuing about how when he undoes the seals, he'll be the strongest Yo-kai alive and take over the world. After realising he told the trio his secret plans, he reveals himself to be the Yo-kai Tengloom and attacks them. After being defeated, Tengloom tells them his allies are already headed for the community center and the bank, still under the influence of Tattletell. He gloats that the world will be theirs before disappearing. Whisper says if the seals are broken, the human and Yo-kai Worlds will collide, and chaos will ensue. The two head off to fix the seals, although the player doesn't know how. After Whisper fixes the bank's seal (and the player defeats Peckpocket) as well as the community center's seal (after the player defeats Mochismo), Whisper tells the player the final seal is probably at the school.
The mysterious Yo-kai saves Katie and Whisper.
After finding the seal at the statue outside Springdale Elementary, Whisper attempts to close the seal, but is interupted when Slimamander is released. Setting his sights on the player as prey, Slimamander attacks. After being defeated by the player, Whisper congratulates the player, but the knocked out Slimamander reawakens and attempts to burn the player and Whisper alive. A mysterious Yo-kai appears out of nowhere and shields them from the attack, before using dragon heads to defeat Slimamander in one hit. After turning towards the player and Whisper to assure their safety, he disappears. Whisper is relieved that it's all over, and admits that the mysterious Yo-kai saved them. The player thought he was a friend of Whisper's, which he denies, before finally fixing the seal. The player asks Whisper if the seals kept Slimamander locked away, which he's not sure of, but says there's a big secret hidden in Springdale that they'll figure out one day. The player and Whisper then head home.
