Plot[]

The day after the last chapter, Bear's father is angry at Bear for losing his mother's wedding ring. Bear's father demands he goes out and finds the ring. Meanwhile, Nate, Katie and Eddie are discussing a rumor about people catching huge fish with shiny bait at Catfish Pond. Bear then sadly comes by and begins crying about losing his mother's wedding ring. He then reveals he overheard his mother saying they'll be fine without her, which he thinks means his mother is so angry, his mother will leave them. After he sadly walks away, the trio feel sad for him, but Eddie mentions there's nothing they can do for him. Soon, after the three split up, the player discusses with Whisper if there's any way they can find the ring. Whisper tells them to give it a shot, since he'll owe them a favor later on, before quickly rewording it to say a good deed is its own reward. He suggests they befriend a swimming Yo-kai to help find the ring, with the player suggesting a kappa. The two decide to head down to the river to find a kappa.

Walkappa found

Finding Walkappa, knocked out from hunger.

After the two arrive at the riverbank, they find two women discussing about finding a flying plate, with one of them claiming to have seen it, and the other calls her a liar. The player realises kappa have plates, so the flying plate could've been a kappa. Whisper agrees, and says that Yo-kai who feel weak have trouble fully vanishing, so they could've found a kappa. Using the Yo-kai Watch on a moving sunflower, the player reveals the Yo-kai Walkappa. Walkappa immediately expresses shock that the two can see him, and tells them he was training for a kappa swim meet, and was so wrapped up in training that he forgot to eat. He falls over and starts audibly wishing someone would get him fish, attempting to manipulate the player and Whisper into finding fish for him. He also says he'd do anything for someone who'd get him fish. The player reveals they don't have a fishing rod, to which he gets up and hands them a fishing rod, asking for three standard Carp. After the player hands over the 3 Carp, he expresses his gratitude and asks how he can repay the favor. The player tells him they need help finding something at Catfish Pond, which he gladly accepts and gives them his medal. The trio then head off to Catfish Pond.

SV Snaggerjag appears

SV Snaggerjag appears behind Walkappa.

Arriving at Catfish Pond, the player finds Bear searching for the ring, and offers to help. Walkappa then appears and says he'll find the ring quickly, and jumps in. Bear asks who made the splash, and the player replies saying the splash was their friend. Walkappa's constant splashes make Bear confused and shocked as to what's going on. Walkappa finds it, before a voice screams that no wild swimming is allowed, causing the Yo-kai SV Snaggerjag to emerge behind Walkappa. Bear is even more shocked at the splash, as SV Snaggerjag attacks the player and Walkappa. After being defeated. SV Snaggerjag says he thought lifeguards got more respect than this, as Whisper notes that he must be the King of Catfish Pond. SV Snaggerjag confirms this, as he says jumping in is prohibited, since the sudden splashes scare the fish who vacation there. The player and Walkappa apologise for not knowing, and SV Snaggerjag tells them to be careful so he doesn't have to teach them a lesson again. Walkappa gives the player the ring, as they head over to Bear. Still shocked, he asks what the splashing was, and the player replies that it might have been the King of Catfish Pond, and gives him back the ring. He cries in thankfulness, and heads back to his home, and asks the player to accompany him to return it.

After returning to Bear's house, the player, Whisper and Bear see Bear's mom leaving home, thinking they're too late. Bear returns the ring, with Bear's mom replying that it was a cheap old thing she got out of a vending machine. She then gets mad at her husband for forgetting which ring he used to propose to her, and says she never takes off her engagement ring. She also reveals that she wasn't leaving the house permenantly, she's just going to a class reunion. The conversation reminds Whisper that he needs to RSVP for his Yo-kai 200th-year reunion. The player expresses disappointment that they went through all that for a ring, and Whisper replies by saying it was a chance for them and Bear to become better friends.
