Doyagari Tribe Member (with Mask)

Doyagari-zoku from Yo-kai Watch: Wibble Wobble

The members of the Doyagari Tribe are based on hermit crabs, having pincers and colorations like a typical crab. They have shell helmets that resemble a turban, refencing the Sazae-oni and have stereotypical tribal features, such as a spear, face paint, shell necklace, grass skirt, and a shell worn like a mask to intimidate enemies.

Profile[]

Yo-kai Watch Busters 2[]

They are required for the Bukkakei Yo-kai Circle.

Yo-kai Watch: Wibble Wobble[]

Doyagari-zoku Members appeared in the Busters 2 launch event that lasted from November 17, 2017, to November 30, 2017. They appeared in stages 1, 23, and 37, having a chance to be befriended when beaten.

Etymology[]

Doyagari is a pun on "yadokari" (Japanese: ヤドカリ "hermit crab") and "doyagao" (Japanese: ドヤ顔 "smug face").

Origin[]

The Doyagari Tribe Members seem to be based off of the Sazae-oni, a sea dwelling demon in Japanese folklore that is known for its turban shaped shell.

Trivia[]

  • The Doyagari Tribe members appear to speak in the Tōhoku dialect, or at least have speaking habits inspired by it.
