Springdale Five-YO: Episode 4 - The Stakeout (Japanese: 太陽にほえるズラ 第4話「張り込み」 Taiyō ni Hoeru zura: Dai-yon-wa "Harikomi), Yo-kai Papa Windbag (Japanese: 妖怪じがじぃさん Yōkai Jigajīsan), and Which One Is Real? (Japanese: ホンモノはどっちだ!? Honmono wa Dotchi da!?) is the 33rd episode of the Yo-kai Watch anime series. It was broadcasted in Japan on August 29, 2014, and in the United States on August 9, 2016.

Summary[]

Komasan and Whisper are in a stakeout, in hopes of catching a criminal. Trivia[]

  • This is the last episode to be broadcasted in the United Kingdom in April 2017, making it the only English-speaking territory (not counting Asian-English countries, as a separate dub is produced) to not get any more Season 2 dub episodes. After the episode was aired, reruns of the animated series were never shown again.
    • The first half of the Season 2 dub (ending at EP052) would later be put on the official UK YouTube channel for a limited time in summer 2017, and the full episodes were region-locked to the United Kingdom only.
    • This was also the final episode the air in the Netherlands in Spring 2017, and it is the only non-speaking western European territory to not get the complete Season 2 dub.
  • The arm gestures and expressions Katie, Bear and Eddie do while they reminisce about their summer break is a reference to Japanese comedian Taka Tokanado's running gag where he says "Ore da! Ore da! Ore da!" (俺だ!俺だ!俺だ!), roughly translating to "It's me!".
  • The first part of the Recap Time is a reference to Sazae-san, while the second and last part references the manga Rokkun Game Boy and Captain Tsubasa.

Dub Differences[]

  • The "summer festival" was renamed to a "county fair", even though the Japanese lettering can be seen in the flashback. While Katie describes her experience, shaved ice was also renamed to snowcones.
    • This makes it inconsistent, because Komasan mentioned watching by a "summer festival" during his backstory in Here's Komasan!
    • Shaved ice is shown and called by name in the English dub of Yo-kai Swelterrier.
  • The Japanese text in the Recap was removed.
