Gnew Guy Gnomey: The Love Episode (Japanese: 新人のざしきわらし 恋愛編 Shinjin no Zashiki-warashi: Ren-ai-hen), A Yo-kai Holiday! (Japanese: きょうは妖怪ホリデー! Kyō wa Yōkai Horidē!), and The High-Fright Zone (Japanese: こわいライトゾーン ~白い恐怖~ Kowairaito Zōn ~Shiroi Kyōfu~) is the 71st episode of the Yo-kai Watch anime series. It was broadcasted in Japan on May 29, 2015, and in the United States on April 29, 2017.

Summary[]

Gnew Guy Gnomey attempts to prepare a boy for a date with a girl. Nate faces off against Snottle once again, but cannot summon any Yo-kai due to it being a Yo-kai holiday. In the style of The Twilight Zone, Nate's fear of going to the dentist causes him to have strange hallucinations.

Nate faces of against Snottle, claiming that Snottle will lose. Whisper gives Nate an empty promise of support.

Snottle inspirits Nate to make him pick his nose. As his fingers draw closer to his nostrils, Nate tries to resist, saying that nose picking should only be done in private. Ultimately, Snottle's influence is victorious and Nate starts to pick his nose, much to his agony and Snottle's delight.

Nate tries summoning Jibanyan and Pallysol, only to find out that it's a Yo-kai holiday and he can't summon anyone.

Nate calls in a professional exorcist to get rid of Snottle, but the exorcist ends up picking his nose as well.

Snottle follows Nate and makes his parents pick their noses. Nate asks when when the holiday will be over and as it turns out, it had already ended.

Nate tries to summon his Yo-kai friends to get rid of Snottle, but they are all acting lazy due to their recent day-off.

Snottle makes all of them, including Nate and Whisper pick their noses.

  • This is the last episode where the Exorcist makes an appearance.

Dub Differences[]

  • Whisper breaks the fourth wall by advising the kids to floss, unlike the Japanese version.

Errors[]

  • In the dub, when Nate summons several Yo-kai towards the end of "A Yo-kai Holiday!", all of the medals he uses have their Japanese names written on them.
