Trivia[]

YW YourNameReference

Body-swapped Nate and Hailey meeting each other on the staircase, referencing the iconic scene of Your Name.

  • Whisper and Poofessor break the fourth wall in the cold open by stating that they cannot live off another regular comical episode, while the latter references that Poofessor's trivia deuce gags have been overused later in the anime's run.
  • The first segment is an obvious reference to M03, featuring a similar plot and was shown before the television premiere of that movie.
    • Narwail is explicitly mentioned in the episode, likely meaning that this episode takes place after the movie.
  • The beginning of the first segment of humans walking around Downtown Springdale is reused from the Season 2 cold open, albeit re-animated to show them in winter wear.
  • This is the last episode to show Jibanyan wearing his Next HarMEOWny outfit.
  • The calendar in Nate's bedroom matches that of December 2017, which was when the episode aired.
  • Hailey and Nate meeting each other climatically on the staircase is a reference to the 2016 film Your Name.
    • That film was also referenced in a Yo-kai Watch 3 Quest with Komasan and Komajiro.
  • Hovernyan mentions that he only comes during the winter, which is a pun on his Japanese name (フユニャン Fuyunyan) and the season itself (冬 fuyu). It is also a reference to when Yo-kai Watch Movies were released during that season.
  • The figure of Santa Claus seen in Jibanyan's imagination may have been a misinterpretation of Kyodai Santa, or a Yo-kai like him, except that it doesn't resemble Ol' Saint Trick in any way.
  • A Philippine dub aired at GMA Network, the scene where Nate and Hailey swapped bodies for the third time (when Nate was naked and being licked by Lappinitup) was cut.
    • The part of the scene where Hailey (in Nate's body) and sees his pants unzipped was also cut.

Errors[]

  • The episode takes place in the winter, yet there are still leaves on the trees.
  • When Nate tries to mock Whisper by looking for a more capable butler in the middle of the argument, Nate is drawn too short.
  • Mongeewhale's eyes are misaligned in-between frames when Whisper wishes Nate and Hailey to switch bodies.
  • When Hovernyan tries to tell Nate and Hailey about the problem, he is drawn too fat.
