Faysoff is first seen in EP091 as one of the Yo-kai Whisper wants to perform with in the Red Cat vs White Dog Song Battle.
Faysoff made his official full appearance in EP171.

Etymology[]
"Faysoff" is a wordplay on face off.
"Sincara" is a contraction of "Sin cara" (Faceless).
"Ovide" is a wordplay on the 0 that looks like a face and "Vide" (Empty). And Ovide is a famous latin poet.
"Voltovuoto" literally means "empty face."
Origin[]
Faysoff is based on the nopperabō (Japanese: のっぺら坊,nopperabō). These youkai mix with humans and wander quiet roads at night, startling people by suddenly showing them their disturbing featureless visage. Sometimes they will pursue their victim or team up with another nopperabō: when said victim runs away in fear, they will encounter someone else and tell them of the terrifying faceless youkai they saw... to which the stranger will ask "By any chance, did it look anything like this?..." and wipe their face off to reveal themselves as the youkai in question, multiple times at times.
Sometimes they are confused with the mujina (Japanese: 貉) (a shapeshifting badger youkai), because the above just so happens to be one of their favorite pranks.
