Jibanyan is one of Nate and Katie's main Yo-kai from the Yo-kai Watch manga and Wakuwaku Nyanderful Days.

History

Volume 1

In CP001, Nate finds Jibanyan trying to defeat the cars in the street however he fails, getting hit by a car. He calls himself lame but Nate reassures him and they become friends.

In CP002 he helps Happierre find his wife Dismarelda.

In CP003 he eats a lot of Mochismo‘s mochi because he was hungry, this makes Mochismo happy since no one ever wants to eat his mochi.

In CP004 he is summoned by Nate to face Wazzat, but Jibanyan mistakes him for a common hat and Wazzat begins to eat his memory but Whisper defeats him.

In CP005 Nate summons him to confront Baku, but he was sick and fell asleep. In his dream it was the moment that he met Nate but he didn't remember his face.

In CP007 Nate tries to summon Jibanyan to find Yo-kai friends but Whisper stops him, hoping to help Nate himself. Later, Nate summons Jibanyan to deal with Negatibuzz however he is unsuccessful.

In the special chapter of volume 1 he tries to help Nate get to school faster by being his mount, but they get run over.

Volume 2

In CP008 he was summoned by Whisper without Nate's consent to face Roughraff, but he turns him into Baddinyan and then as Baddinyan faces Roughraff thus winning the fight.

In CP009 he is summoned to face Daiz. When summoned, he gets caught in a tree however he rebounds and slams into Daiz.

In CP010, Jibanyan and Nate find a coin on the ground. Nate wants to spend it on comics but Jibanyan wants to spend it on snacks. Just then, a shoplifter runs towards them. Jibanyan sticks his leg out to trip him but ends up stealing the snacks for himself. It is revealed that Jibanyan was inspirited by Negasus. At the end of the chapter, the group buy snacks together and Nate is horrified to see that Jibanyan spent the coin on snacks without his consent.

In CP011, he is summoned by Nate to confront Sproink. Jibanyan makes Sproink's fire backfire, thus defeating him.

In CP012, he is summoned by Nate to confront Coughkoff but Jibanyan gets stabbed while hugging Coughkoff and transforms into Thornyan. He uses his thorns to stab Coughkoff and defeat him.

In CP013, he is summoned to confront Cadin however Cadin's ringing noise stops him from fighting back. While Jibanyan covers his ears, he attacks Cadin with his Soultimate, using his feet.

In CP014, he is summoned by Nate to meet Shogunyan. Shogunyan knows Jibanyan is his ancestor and wants to possess him so he can eat dried tuna. When Jibanyan is knocked out by Noway, Shogunyan is able to possess him. When Shogunyan leaves his body after defeating Noway, Jibanyan is furious he possessed him without his consent.

Volume 3

In CP015, he is summoned to help Nate learn to swim but falls in the ocean and drowns.

In CP016, he is summoned to fight Tattletell. Nate tries to persuade Jibanyan to fight her but he refuses. After Nate insults Jibanyan's interests, Jibanyan preaches that friends should always respect each other's interests. Inspired by his words, Tattletell grows fond of Jibanyan and confesses her love to him. Jibanyan however, is less than happy about this and just tells her to get lost.

In CP018, he appears along with Nate and Whisper to fight Goruma, he with the help of Tattletell defeats Goruma by hitting his 'weak point', then rejects the idea of working with Tattletell again.

In CP019, he is summoned to fight Manjimutt. Jibanyan manages to defeat Manjimutt by accident but like Nate and Whisper, gets turned into a dog after being bitten by Manjimutt.

In CP020, Jibanyan is hanging out in Uptown Springdale eating fish. He mentions how happy he is that he can eat all the fish he wants since no one can see him however he also gets hit by bikes and cars a lot since no one can see him in their path.

In CP021, he is summoned among other Yo-kai to face Blandon, but since he was hit by a bike in the previous chapter, he cannot fight. Everyone forgets about him for the whole chapter.

In CP022, he goes to a thermal bath but he meets Sproink again and they fight. Then he saves Sproink from burning himself with the bath water.

In CP023, he meets Snotsolong who sneezes at him in the face. Snotsolong helps him fly but they fall.

In CP024, he is summoned to fight Dianyan. Jibanyan notices that Dianyan is wearing his lost collar and attacks him. Instead of attacking however, he steals a diamond ring that Dianyan found and is content with it. Dianyan throws the collar down in anger and Jibanyan remembers it was a gift from Amy and grows angry. Jibanyan attacks Dianyan and uses the diamond ring to shatter Dianyan. Nate mends Dianyan but sees Jibanyan running away with the diamond ring. He gets his comeuppance when he is hit by Katie on her bike.

In the special chapter of volume 3, Jibanyan is first seen bouncing along the road and avoiding a car with style. He however is hit by a bike after he lands. He is later seen fighting Mad Mountain in a sumo ring. Jibanyan wins when Mad Mountain is hit by a car since they were fighting in the street. He is next seen being blown away by Tengu's fan. However, while gloating, Tengu accidentally blows himself away. Next he is seen fighting Wiglin who dodges all of his attacks. Wiglin is however hit by a car. Next, Nate meets Auntie Heart who can turn bad Yo-kai good. Nate tells her to help Jibanyan but it is revealed she simply threatens the Yo-kai to do good. Later, Nate meets Draggie and his crystal ball shows Jibanyan, much to his surprise. Draggie wants to see it too but can't since the ball is on his head. At the end of the chapter, Jibanyan is distraught that he wasn't included much in the chapter.

Volume 4

In CP025, he is summoned by Nate to fight Cupistol. After using Whisper as a shield, Cupistol shoots him making him fall in love with him but Jibanyan and Whisper fight each other defeating Cupistol, then he and Whisper fall in love with each other thanks to Cupistol.

In CP026, He meets Blazion, He tries to take advantage of his heat but Blazion hits him by mistake and Jibanyan tried to attack him but burned himself with Blazion's head.

In CP027, still burning he is invoked by Nate to reason with Suspicioni, but then he decides to fight him and defeats him.

In CP028, he appears playing with Whisper, later he goes to fight Gargaros, then uses Dianyan in conjunction with Whisper as a weapon to defeat Gargados but breaks the Yo-kai Watch by mistake with that weapon.

In CP029, we continue with the events of Chapter 23 where he fell headlong, he meets Steppa but Jibanyan falls asleep, Jibanyan fights Steppa leaving the two defeated.

In CP030, he is summoned by Nate to get Cutta-nah out of Nate's house, but Jibanyan didn't want to do anything but later decides to fight Cutta-nah while he was defenseless, but they decide to be friends and Cutta-nah cuts him off for error.

In CP031, he meets Blowkade, they decide to fight but they defeat each other.

In CP032, he is summoned by Nate to fight Robonyan, he fights not to be turned into a Cyborg, he is saved by Nate, later he fights against a car to show that he can defeat cars and retain his organic form but is hit by a car.

In CP033, he meets Blandon again with whom they have an accident with a Shuriken and Jibanyan ends up in chains.

In CP034, while he was chained he was invoked by Nate to fight with Illoo, he fights against him but defeats Whisper due to Illoo's illusion, in another illusion he meets Amy again, he steals Illoo's staff to defeat him. later Whisper uses a Tattletell's illusion and in the epilogue he sees two Nate's which he defeats but turns out to be an Illoo illusion.

Movie manga

In MM04 he saves a child because he had enough strength to stop the cars, later he is invoked by Natsume but at first he did not want to join her against Onimaro but after seeing how Natsume saves a cat, Jibanyan decided to join Natsume to fight against Onimaro and his army, Jibanyan confronts Touma to stop him, later Jibanyan reveals that the mysterious "key" that Natsume was carrying was actually the ark of Seiryuu, later together with Fubuki-hime and Himoji they make a plan to stop Onimaro.

Personality

Jibanyan is a Yo-kai that is determined to do anything, while at the same time he is somewhat of a lazy Yo-kai.

He can be somewhat forgetful and childish, also somewhat cheeky, his favorite band is Next HarMEOWny, which is a big fan, also he does not like Tattletell very much, he is also vengeful at times due to inconveniences or problems related to Yo-kai.

Relationships

Amy

Amy was Jibanyan's previous owner when he was Rudy. Jibanyan feels guilty for disappointing her when he was hit by a car so swears to become strong enough to fight cars for her.

Nathan Adams

Nate and Jibanyan are close since Nate often summons Jibanyan to help fight other Yo-kai.

Whisper

Whisper and Jibanyan have a rocky relationship. Jibanyan often ends up using Whisper as a shield from attacks.

Shogunyan

Although Shogunyan seems fond of Jibanyan since he's his ancestor, Jibanyan doesn't treat him with the same respect. In their first meeting, Jibanyan repetitively calls Shogunyan an old man. When Shogunyan first possesses Jibanyan to get a corporeal form, Jibanyan is furious when he realises he did so.

Tattletell

Tattletell grows fond of Jibanyan when they fight together however her feelings aren't mutual. Jibanyan has no interest in her and begs Nate not to summon her when he's around.

Sproink

First, they were enemies due to unfortunate coincidences and differences between them. Later he would save Sproink and help him when Sproink got stuck in a fireplace and invited him to Nate's house to bathe while being friends.

Kyubi

Kyubi is his teacher who trained him to become Jibanyan S.
