Artwork of Whisper using the Yo-kai Pad.

The Yo-kai Pad (Japanese: 妖怪パッド Youkai Paddo) is a tablet device that is manufactured by Yopple Inc., used by Yo-kai. Just like a real-life tablet, it has access to several applications and internet in the Yo-kai World.

Whisper is notable for owning a Yo-kai Pad, that looks up information of Yo-kai identified by Nathan Adams. Usapyon also owns one, except he uses it more for browsing around the internet rather than finding information about Yo-kai.

In the video games, the Yo-kai Pad plays a prominent role functioning as the pause menu with applications that act like features, beginning with Yo-kai Watch 2.

Overview[]

The Yo-kai Pad resembles a tablet, that includes various applications just like real-life tablets. It is regularly used for looking up information on Yo-kai, or for browsing the internet for news and watching videos. They are all produced by Yopple Inc., in various models and varieties.

It has a blue frame with a yellow center, and ears at the top of it. Usapyon's Yo-kai pad is almost the same, but it has rabbit bucktooth instead of a sharp tooth on the face.

Known Models[]

Whisper's Yo-kai Pad
This Yo-kai Pad is the first model to ever be produced by Yopple Inc., where Whisper owns one for himself. It has a blue frame with eyes and a singular-toothed mouth in the yellow center, and dark-blue pointy ears at the top of it. It is unlocked by moving the tooth to the side of the touch screen.

Whenever his human companion Nate or Katie finds out about a Yo-kai he has never seen before, he always tries to look it up on the Yo-kai Pad otherwise he wouldn't know what the supposed Yo-kai would be due to his lack of knowledge. Besides using the Yo-kai Pad for looking up information, Nate also rarely uses it to look up news and videos that go on in the Yo-kai World.

Yo-Kai Pad
Usapyon's Yo-kai Pad
Another Yo-kai Pad also exists in the form of a slightly different shape and color scheme, looking lighter and having a buck-toothed unlock screen with red eyes, overall resembling more of a rabbit.

Usapyon also has a Yo-kai Pad of his own, and searches up information just like Whisper except that he puts the information to good use rather than trying to remember everything. Hailey also occasionally uses that Yo-kai Pad to access the Yo-kai World's internet.

Hidabat's Yo-kai Pad
In EP180 of the Yo-kai Watch anime series, Hidabat is shown to own a Yo-kai Pad of his own. It is purple in color with bat ears and wings, with a bat-like logo at the back. It's unknown if it's a different model, or to be produced by Yopple. HidabatYokaiPad
Komasan and Komajiro's Yo-kai Pad
In the Yo-kai Watch! anime series, Koma Kaachan tasks Komasan and Komajiro to find his newly-born little sister Komami where they both obtain a Yo-kai Pad in order to keep track of the photos she posts all over her Inzuragram account on social media.

In the games[]

In Wibble Wobble, Yo-kai Watch 2 and Yo-kai Watch 3, the Yo-kai Pad is for used for navigating the menus which have certain apps.

Yo-kai Watch 2[]

While the Yo-kai Pad did not make a proper appearance in the first game (instead being replaced by a generic menu), the Yo-kai Pad now takes the role of the menu that allows the player to navigate Yo-kai.

Trivia[]

  • There is an unused English version of the Orcanos Medal application icons found in the files of Yo-kai Watch: Wibble Wobble. While the app icon was simply translated, it was never intended to be used.
    • However, in the Portuguese version of the launch message, the app mentioned an "Orcanos Medal giveaway". As the franchise wasn't popular in such territories, it was likely a translation mistake as no other foreign languages mentioned it.
  • The Yo-kai Watch 2 wallpaper 'Small Cream Soda' may be a reference to the music group King Cream Soda that sang many of the Yo-kai Watch anime opening and ending songs
