Goofball appears to be a baseball Yo-kai with tears streaming from his eyes. He wears a blue baseball helmet with a red "X" in the middle, and a brown glove on one of his hands. In his other hand, he holds a metallic gray baseball bat with a black handle.
Goofball acts very meekly and with a severe lack of esteem, which stems from his fear of catching the ball when he was a baseball player back when he was alive.
Goofball's inspiriting causes people to be scared of catching balls while playing baseball.
Tomorrow Gal becomes Goofball's source of inspiration thanks to her ability, which in turn causes him to evolve into Slugger. However, when Tomorrow Gal turns to cheer Chicken Chukket when losing a baseball match in the Yo-kai World, Slugger reverts to his original form out of shock.
While playing as Nate, the player can encounter Goofball on the train in Springdale. Goofball will tell them that he visited Springdale because he heard baseball was becoming more popular. He tells them he found a ticket to a Yo-kai match however quickly discovers it isn't a match ticket but instead a lottery ticket. Disappointed, he decides to give the ticket to the group instead so it doesn't remind him of his mistake.
He can also be found in Blasters T in the Burning and Blazing Labyrinths.
He is required for the The Failure Brigade Yo-kai Circle.
Befriending: "I just knew I would be rubbish alone... please let me join your team!"
Traded: "You might as well trade me straight back... Cause I'm rubbish..."
Freed from Crank-a-kai: "I'm out! Does that mean I'm in? In the team? Is that, err, a yes?"
In the anime[]
Goofball made his debut in EP167. Before he was a Yo-kai, he was one a human boy who was afraid of catching the ball. While he carried baseball bats, he flipped backwards to his death. Nate summoned Tomorrow Gal to cheer him up, which caused him to evolve into Slugger. Later, in a baseball match in the Yo-kai World, after Slugger strikes Chicken Chukket once, Tomorrow Gal turns to cheer the latter instead. Out of shock, Slugger returns to being Goofball. He later sorrowfully gives Nate his Yo-kai Medal and leaves into the horizon.
