Gourd Pond Musuem (Japanese: ひょうたん池博物館 Hyōtan-chi Hakubutsukan) is an area located in Breezy Hills, Springdale. It's a public place during the daytime, but Yo-kai roam the building at night which becomes accessible via Mirapo.
In Yo-kai Watch 2, the Big Gates are located in the Vault, which is opened via Gate Globes collected from the Gates of Whimsy.
Overview[]
Gourd Pond Museum is a museum at the centre of Breezy Hills. It features art exhibits and different kinds of exhibits in certain parts of the museum depending on the game.
In the games[]
Yo-kai Watch[]
Gourd Pond Museum is first visited during Chapter 8, Eddie's Search. Eddie will invite the player to visit the museum, but his home will be locked until the player reaches the B-rank. Upon reaching the museum, the player can freely interact with the exhibits, which are mainly divided between the first floor, which has a historical theme, and the second floor, featuring contemporary art. After exploring the area, Eddie will tell the player that his actual plan was finding out about a rumored piece of armor that wanders around the museum at night, which however he didn't see during the visit, asking the player to come back at nighttime.
Upon getting back, they are initially unable to enter due to the museum being closed, but they eventually encounter Mirapo, which teleports them inside and will allow the player to explore the area despite the security lasers blocking the way. Eddie will try to deactivate the security measures while the player looks for the key of the vault, where he thinks they will find that armor. The area will now be filled with Yo-kai and treasure chests, and will need to be navigated by using Mirapos to warp around the rooms. When the player finds the key, Eddie will deactivate the lasers and they will gain access to the vault, where the armor will turn out to be Phantasmurai.
Yo-kai Watch 2[]
The first floor of the museum now exhibits life from sixty years ago. The player will be given a quest, which requires to visit Old Springdale in order to get some missing objects from the exhibit.
The back storage room is now home to the Gates of Whimsy, where the player can access an area to open up doors from their collected Gate Globes. Diana Gately has been doing research on the mysterious phenomenon and asks the player to help.
At night, the first floor features four yellow chests, one in the central west, one in the south-east of the western area, one in front of the front desk and one in the far north-east. There are four chests on the second floor. One in the central west, one in the far south-west, one in the far south of the eastern walkway in the central area and one in the far south-east.
Yo-kai Watch 3[]
The left side of the museum features exhibits about space. The Gates of Whimsy are no longer here as Diana Gately has moved to St. Peanutsburg for the Pearly Chamber of Whimsy. Poofessor can instead be found in the storage room where Hailey asks him for help with Usapyon's rocket.

Trivia[]
- The paintings in the exhibit are renditions of the artworks Grande Odalisque by Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres and Road with Cypress and Star by Vincent Van Gogh.
- An Egyptian glyph on the first floor's right wing has the character of Gus Martin from the Inazuma Eleven series, mummified.
- On the second floor, a statue depicts an "angel with one wing", which could be a reference to Sephiroth, the main antagonist from Final Fantasy VII.
- It also may be a reference to the real world statue, Winged Victory of Samothrace
