Etymology[]

  • Kibandoll's name comes from the Japanese term "kiban" (Japanese: 黄ばん), which is an inflection of the term "kibamu" (Japanese: 黄ばむ, lit. "to turn yellow"/turning yellow with age), and the English word "doll."
  • The English name, "Grubbles," comes from the word "grubby" which means to be filthy or grimy, which could reference how she turns clothing to a shade of yellow with age. It's also likely the name is a reference old ventriloquist dummies, like "Slappy."
  • Her Spanish name, "Amarilia" comes from "Amarillo" (Yellow, meaning something dirty) and the name "Emilia" (Emily).

Trivia[]

  • Grubbles' "random" nicknames are: Grubs, Staincy, Janice, and Misty.
