Hanako-san wearing a white sleeveless midriff-baring shirt with black neckline and hem and has black 'H' and 'L' letters on the chest. She also wears slim pink knee-length pants with straps on the sides, white and black sneakers and a black bangle on her left wrist. In this form, she can emanate pink strings to control foes like puppets.

Y School Heroes: Bustlin' School Life[]

Yshbsl hanako introduction

Kyouran no Hanako-san in Y School Heroes: Bustlin' School Life

Hanako-san is encountered at the end of Morashita la Damelia where a similar cutscene plays out to the anime. The player then fights Kyouran no Hanako-san.

During her initial story mission, she is noticeably more difficult than previous fights so it is recommended to be around level 70 when fighting her. Her attacks include: a stomp attack where she attacks in a short fan shaped area in front of her, a large circular attack that makes your movement slippery, an electricity attack in front of her that will cause confusion, a heart attack where she dances and small hearts shoot out around her, a technique where she creates spotlights that will boost whoever poses in the spotlight, and a charged attack that creates a mass of lasers in the arena. Standing behind her will avoid her stomp and electricity attacks and she will walk to the centre of the arena before doing her spotlight or charged attacks, so they are easy to predict.

For her spotlight technique, yellow spotlights will appear in the arena in random locations and the player must walk onto them and press the A button before Hanako reaches them. If she does, she unleashes an attack around her, if the player does, she gets angry for a moment, leaving her open for attack. This sequence lasts for around 5-6 spotlights and it is recommended the player either tries to get to them first or stay away if Hanako will clearly reach them first. The former is preferred as NPC controlled characters may not dodge her attack as well and the spotlights give a stat boost. It is recommended to be a Yo-kai Hero during these segments as they are faster. If Hanako disappears before reaching a spotlight, she will always reach it by teleporting and the player can't get there first, so run away from her area of attack if this happens. She will change her pose and turn purple when teleporting so it is easy to predict. Her charged attack can be cancelled if the player deals enough damage, inflicts a status ailment or with Earth Walker and Earth Walker NOA's Granzort Cat Sky Drive or Clock Lady's Time Bind. Cancelling the attack with enough damage will cause her to be invulnerable for a short while.

As a Helper Onryo, Kyouran no Hanako-san uses her charged move, attacking in a wide range with lasers. This is a strong Onryo Helper to use as it covers a wide area and is suggested for early game use.

In the anime[]

Prior Events[]

Approximately 50 years prior to the start of the series, she played hide-and-seek with some kids and was never found, and died after accidentally falling off a high place. Ever since, she has been trying to get friends to play with, but after seeing a girl miss her mother, she felt guilty and spread a rumour that calling her name was cursed. Alas, it backfired due to the kids' curiosity.

Y School Heroes[]

In episode 7, she accidentally brings Mataro to her dimension, and is somehow able to charm the YSP Club (sans Mera) to play with her. However, after Kyubi and Mera end up having a fight, she snaps and turns into her second form, stunning Mera and Kyubi, who are saved by Fubuki from getting crushed by her.

The Club then assumes their hero forms simultaneously to fight her, but Kengo Benimaru, Shishi O and Ninetail are quickly incapacitated by her strings (with Clock Lady soon after she tried to reverse time). Eventually, Little Kommander freed them by shrinking and messing around in her nostrils, after which Kengo Benimaru, Shishi O and Ninetail proceed to beat her into defeat.

Later, Mataro reveals he built the amusement park they went on as Hanako was lonely in her dimension, and afterwards, Fubuki offers to help send the inhabitants back by combining Clock Lady's powers with her own, and later makes amends with her butler (who was revealed to be the first kid she trapped).
