Hovernyan (Japanese: フユニャン Fuyunyan) is a Yo-kai that appears as one of the main characters that mostly appears in the Yo-kai Watch movies. Though he makes rare appearances in the Yo-kai Watch anime series, he becomes more of a character in Yo-kai Watch!.
History[]
Prior Events[]
Hovernyan met Nathaniel Adams after he asked him to look through the marble he found. Since then, the two have become the best of friends.
Yo-kai Watch: The Movie[]
In Yo-kai Watch: The Movie, Hovernyan was looking for someone that can save the world, that can work as a "sidekick", judging from his ambitious love of Moximous Mask. He waited patiently for sixty years before he transformed into Meganyan and created a clone of himself to find the person he was looking for.
After Nate deflates Meganyan and transforms him back into Hovernyan, the Yo-kai tells them about Nathaniel Adams creating a new Yo-kai Watch by showing him rough drafts but says that the future might be nonexistent because of the Wicked (tribe) taking over humans in the present. Though Nate says that his grandfather died, Hovernyan shows them a stone that takes them back in time.
During the final battle, he transforms into Darknyan with the help of all the Yo-kai (excluding Jibanyan and Whisper).
M02[]
Hovernyan appears again in M02 in the fifth chapter of the movie. He’s seen as gathering a group to stop Lord Enma from making these changes after Lord Enma wanted all Yo-kai to come back in the Yo-kai World. Hovernyan goes to Nate for help and they agree as they wait for other people to stop Yo-kai from going back like Usapyon Komasan and Hailey Anne until The Yo-kai Start disappearing after Supposedly Zazel creates a signal jamming humans from seeing Yo-kai so they go to the Yo-Kai world to investigate. Later they have a battle with Zazel since Zazel is the one trying to rid Yo-Kai and Humans together. Hovernyan also transforms into Darknyan and uses his soultimate as well With the help of Usapyon Emperor mode and Buchinyan
Yo-kai Watch anime series[]
Hovernyan later made his debut in the anime series in the episode Yo-kai Misterr Typoo as a cameo, where he and other cat Yo-kai were summoned all together when Misterr Typoo's power changed the Robonyan F's Dream Medal's name to 'Nyan'. Strangely, he is the only cat Yo-kai who didn't participate with other cat Yo-kai in beating up Nate and Whisper when the former accidentally upsetting them by saying that he summoned all of them for nothing.
He appears again in EP200, where he investigates the mysterious power caused by a giant flying object.
M03[]
In MO3 Hovernyan Appears in half of the movie because he informs Nate that his world is also turning weird because of the effects call Koalanyan had been causing and wants to stop the weird changes. Later he battles alongside Nate for some help with Whaleman so he gives Nate the Enma Blade
Yo-kai Watch♪[]
Hovernyan first appears in episode 36 as one of Santas helpers. He goes to Nate asking for help knowing about his skills when it comes to Yo-kai. The presents were gone and he didn’t know where they were. Nate summons Yo-kai to help like Poofessor and Professor Plumage. Eventually Flushback is the one that makes Hovernyan remember and Hovernyan swallowed the presents in his sleep making him Meganyan in the start of the episode. So they make a plan and deliver the presents by Meganyan and Nate gets Hovernyans Yo-Kai Medal.
Yo-kai Watch♪: Jibanyan vs. Komasan - The Big Amazing Battle, Nyan[]
Hovernyan appears having a sense of something is about to go wrong and is purely there to help the town from going into destruction by Shin Jibanyan and Shin Komasan Alongside with Komani.
