"In a tight spot, the samurai Yo-kai, Itashikatanashi, was forced to release the pressure of his sword like a demon god. He vows to never forget the face of the person he was forced to slay in his life."
In hi Lightside form, Itashikatanashi is a small humanoid samurai Yo-Kai with pink skin, with his left eye constantly closed and its right eye open with white schlera.
In his Shadowside form, Kamuwoen becomes considerably taller and his hair fringes now stand up, his left eye is now open, and the right eye now has a black schlera, likely living up to his demon god powers to never hold back. He wears a dark haori with green Japanese pants, and always carry his Japanese katana sword while readying to perform iaido anytime (to draw the katana swiftly) when needed in battle.
Sometime in the past, this samurai Yo-Kai killed someone and vowed to never forget the face of that entity. Likely because of this, his Lighside form is always holding back, only resorting to slashing in his Shadowside form when needed and when put into a tight spot.
Itashikatanashi is exclusive to PuraPura Blasters or as an uncommon prize through the Oni Crank-A-Kai. He appears in the Bushinyan (Shadowside), Shien, Yamamba, second Oni Orb hunt and Hoggles (boss) missions (appearing most frequently in the Shien mission). He can also be befriended through Konkatsu with three red souls, one gold soul and two of Itashikatanshi's Obi.
"Itashikatanashi" comes from the phrase (Japanese: 致し方なし,Itashikata nashi), meaning "no way" in English, signifying how he refuses to use his blade in this form. Tying into this, "katana" is also mixed into the name.
"Yamuwoen" comes from the phrase (Japanese: 止むを得ん,Yamu o en), meaning "unavoidable" in English, signifying how he simply accepted he has no choice but to use his sword in this form.
Trivia[]
Itashikatanashi is possibly a counterpart of sorts to fellow Yo-kai Watch 4++ addition Saya. Both are Yo-kai from the Goriki Tribe who wield swords, and both restrain themselves from using their weapons unless needed (though Saya does it out of discipline and Itashikatanashi does it out of what appears to be guilt over accidentally killing someone) while in their Lightside Forms but unleash their true power in their Shadowside Forms.
