Izanami Son Shoukou (Japanese: イザナミ孫尚香 (そんしょうこう), Izanami Son Shōkō) is a Rank S Water-attribute Commander Yo-kai of the Slippery tribe introduced in Yo-kai Sangokushi.

She is the Yo-kai Sangokushi counterpart of Mermother.

Biology

Izanami Son Shoukou heavily resembles Mermother, the major difference being that she appears to be wearing a Chinese commander outfit, consisting in a light pink sleeve with golden patterns resembling waves, and some metallic pads located in her waist.

Etyomology

Name origin

Izanami's name and profile refer to Izanami-no-Mikoto, the progenitor goddess of Shintoism, while the Son Shoukou refers to Sun Shangxiang which was a legendary figure from the Three Kingdoms period of Chinese history. She was the daughter of the warlord Sun Jian and the sister of Sun Ce and Sun Quan, rulers of the Eastern Wu kingdom. Known for her strength, pride, and martial skill, she became the wife of Liu Bei, a rival warlord who later founded the Shu Han kingdom.
