Jinpei Jiba (Japanese: 寺刃 ジンペイ Jiba Jinpei) is the main protagonist of the Y School Heroes series, while he appears as a minor character in Yo-kai Watch 4. He attends a boarding school called Y-Academy as a first-year student specializing in Yo-kai Special Power, and is also the leader of the YSP Club.
Jinpei Jiba is the reincarnation of Jibanyan, who previously owned the YSP Watch and UR Watch and now currently wields the Majin Watch. He can transform into Kengo Benimaru when near Wampus, Wild Boy when near Goromi, Blue Moon when near Bluepon, Earth Walker when near Mikettio. With training received from Zazel, he can transform into Earth Walker NOA the stronger form of Earth Walker, Earth Walker NOA Armored, the stronger form of Earth Walker NOA when fused with Little Kommander Ace, Black Cat the final form of Earth Walker NOA and Shikkokumaru the upgraded form of Black Cat.
In Yo-kai Watch: Wibble Wobble, he is a playable Rank A Yo-kai of the Brave tribe.

Physical Traits
Appearance
Jinpei Jiba is a human that shares many design characteristics with Jibanyan in the form of a humanized appearance. He has red hair, with a hairstyle that resembles the ears of the original Yo-kai along with an ahoge. He wears an earpiece gifted from Enra Natuski, used for distant communication between the YSP Club members.
He usually wears a uniform for Y-Academy, which has a red color scheme and white-and-red shoes. He also has a casual outfit. He wears either the YSP watch, UR watch, or Majin watch on his left wrist.
Personality
Jinpei Jiba has a quirky and somewhat childish personality, similar to Hailey. He often makes jokes and creates raps out of random quotes. He tends to be oblivious to the things around him, such as Emma's romantic interest in him, and tends to not understand social cues. However, he is also shown to be very caring and protective of his friends.
Abilities
Being one of the few people to be born with Yo-kai Special Power, he has the power to jump high in midair which can be done by building up focus energy. Jinpei has an individual power that can expand his hand and land punches with the power of fire. Their powers notably strengthen when he fights with his friend Sandayu Koma.
With the YSP Watch, Jinpei Jiba can transform into four different Yo-kai Heroes whom are Kengo Benimaru, Wild Boy, Blue Moon and Earth Walker, which are done by combining powers with Wampus, Goromi, Bluepon and Mikettio respectively.

Yo-kai Watch 4
Jinpei Jiba appears in the Quest called The Visitor from Y-Academy, when the Mysterious Earpiece is obtained as a Key Item. He appears in the future world at Sakura High School located in Ryumi-Kawabata South where looks for the earchip so he could communicate with the others.
When Nate gives back the earpiece, Jinpei introduces himself to him along with Jibanyan and Shadowside Jibanyan. After explaining about his ability to see Yo-kai, he suddenly gets a call from Sandayuu Koma wondering, where he was went. Jinpei himself doesn't know how he unexpectedly ended up in the world, because he suddenly disappeared one day as if he travelled to another world.
Nate suggests that he should help out Jinpei get back to his world while exchanging help from him in return. He looks for some help but finds Shadow Venoct with the Yo-kai Watch's searchlight. Jinpei has a heated exchange with Shadow Venoct before three more of them appear and corner everyone else, but they all manage to fight them off. As a reward, Shadow Venoct gives them a tag where Jinpei wants to finish off the remaining Yo-kai but they unexpectedly disappear.
Suddenly, Jinpei gets another call from Koma where he knows a way back to the world so he gives Nate his spare earpiece as a gift of thanks and runs off rather abruptly. Somewhere else he gets yet another call, asking what it is like in the other world, claiming that he "felt like he knew those people from long ago". He leaves the area by knowing he will meet Sandayuu Koma someday again.
In Yo-kai Watch 4++, Jinpei Jiba reappears as an Inspiritable player in the PuraPura Busters mode.
Yo-kai Watch: Wibble Wobble
Jinpei Jiba can be befriended by completing his six missions. He can also be befriended via the event Crank-a-kai during Yo-kai Academy Y themed events.

Sandayu Koma
Koma Sandayu is Jinpei Jiba's best friend. The two met in YG001 when Koma transferred to his class and introduced himself. They became friends after Jinpei recognized the charm on his backpack.
Mataro Tamada
Mataro Tamada is Jinpei Jiba's close friend. The two get along very well. Jinpei is shown to be very fond and protective of him, but sometimes seems to enjoy teasing and/or annoying Mataro with his raps.
Mera Raido
In M06 he was an enemy of Jinpei until he defeated him in combat to make him join the YSP Club, after that they became friends for him to leave the School Mafia.
Fubuki Himekawa
She is a friend of Jinpei who helps him with investigations into the mysteries.

He is the leader of the Tennis Club, an ally and friend of Jinpei who sometimes accompanies him together to the YSP Club as if he were another member.
Emma Daiouji
Emma Daiouji is Jinpei Jiba's friend. She is the leader of the Naginata Club, She is romantically interested in him, but he does not seem to be aware of it.
Ranto Kirigakure
Ranto is the leader of the UFO Research Club and the Student Council, at first he was an antagonist for Jinpei who watched over the YSP Club but after YG023 they became close friends.

Nozuchika Mitsumatagi
Nozuchika is the leader of the School Mafia and the Imperial Study Research Group, he was an enemy of the YSP Club until Jinpei uses the powers of Blue Moon to make him a good person, now he is an ally of Jinpei.

Chiaki is the leader of the Heavy Metal Club and a member of the School Mafia, before he was an enemy of the YSP Club but after his story became known he decides to ally himself with Jinpei and now he is one more ally.

Wampus is the first Yo-kai that Jinpei sees in Y School Heroes Movie, he is a partner with whom to merge with him to transform into Kengo Benimaru.

Momo is the only Onryo who is Jinpei's partner, he often says "Fat Rat" is a support for Jinpei but does not merge with him to transform into any Yo-kai Hero.
Goromi
Goromi is the second Yo-kai that Jinpei sees, she is a partner with whom to merge with him to transform into Wild Boy.
Bluepon
Bluepon is the third Yo-kai that Jinpei sees, he is a partner with whom to merge with him to transform into Blue Moon.
Mikettio
Mikettio is Jinpei's definitive Yo-kai, at first he did not want to cooperate with Jinpei until he tried to attack him but his necklace would make Jinpei tame him little by little, they become closer as they fight together by transforming into Earth Walker, Earth Walker NOA among other more powerful Yo-kai Hero forms.
Haruhiko Usumizawa
Haruhiko or OK Haruhiko is his teacher at school, at first he was an antagonist by causing the Onryo to become stronger but this was because he wanted to help the YSP Club and its allies to Strengthen for the alien invasion for which he was an ally .
