Yo-kai Medallium biography "A wooden sculpture of a mother and her son, Kiborikuma, transformed into Shadowside has been exposed! When their baby cubs are about to be in danger, the mother turns into a monstrous "bear"ent."

Kiborikkuma (Japanese: きぼりっクマ, Kiborikkuma), also known as Onikuma (Japanese: 鬼熊, Onikuma), is an S Rank Shadowside Yo-kai of the Tsukumono Tribe introduced in Yo-kai Watch 4.

In Yo-kai Watch: Wibble Wobble, their Shadowside form is a Rank SS, of the Tough tribe.

Biology

Kiborikkuma in her Lightside Form resembles a wooden bear sculpture of a mother bear holding a fish in her mouth while carrying its baby on its back.

Onikuma in her Shadowside form, becomes much larger and more bear-like instead of wood-like, she gains light brown stripes on her body, long sharper red claws on her hands & feet, she now has a large green apron with a large white shimenawa rope obi. She now holds her cub in her mouth. The cub has a more realistic look and has very light brown stripes on its body and a small green apron, the cub holds the fish in its mouth but the fish is now grey and blue and more real.

The two components of this Yo-kai have a rather close-knit relationship, with the mother bear willingly reanimating itself just to show her cub the world. This also goes into their Shadowside form, during which harming the baby would leave one with a beating from the mother.

Etymology

きぼりっクマ (Kiborikkuma) comes from 木彫り熊 (Kiborikkuma) which is a carving of a wooden bear with a fish in its mouth. Interestingly, said carving is used as a Fusion Item to evolve Grumpus Khan into Groupus Khan.

鬼熊 (Onikuma) is a portmanteau of Oni/demon and the Japanese word for "bear". Additionally, it may be named after the youkai Onikuma, a youkai that is the form that long-lived bears transform into growing larger than than the largest natural bears that are known for stealing livestock, usually cows and horses.
