- Yo-kai Watch: Wakuwaku Nyanderful Days: Major Yo-kai
Biology[]
Appearance[]
Komasan is a komainu, closely resembling a shiba inu with long, blue fiery eyebrows that look similar to hitodama flames. Throughout his body and head, he has ivory-colored fur with a light blue stomach, tail, and inner ears. His eyes are a lime-green color and he has red swirls on his cheeks and hips. Komasan's eyebrow flames are actual fires, but can rarely cause burns.
He carries a green furoshiki (a cloth that can be wrapped, which is used for storing and carrying items) with a white spiral patterns wrapped around his shoulders. He uses it to carry various objects, in the event of finding a new place to live or for travelling to other places.
History[]
Prior Events[]
Komasan and Komajiro used to be shrine guardians of their hometown. That was, until Kyubi, angry about Frostail, burned the shrine down accidentally, forcing Komasan and Komajiro to flee. Komasan then suggested that this was a sign to try new experiences in the big city to not be afraid anymore. Komasan and Komajiro then travelled to the city.
Volume 1[]
Komasan first appears in The Fox Appears!, walking around nearby Katie and Kyubi. Komasan is shocked when Kyubi suddenly grabs Katie and dances with her in an attempt to charm her. As Katie acts unimpressed, Kyubi accidentally lets his tails out. After Katie leaves, Komasan is terrified over why Kyubi randomly danced and grew tails.
Komasan makes his proper debut in Finally, Komasan Enters The Scene, being mugged by Roughraff. Roughraff forces Komasan to jump to reveal what he has, but he only has a Soul Tea. An annoyed Roughraff tells Komasan to never let him see him again, as Komasan apologises and cries over his lost Soul Tea. As Katie asks if he's ok, he says he's fine because he protected the innocence in his heart. Komasan then says the real problem is that he lost sight of Komajiro, and then spots him sprinting away, with Komasan giving chase.
Later, Katie asks Komasan what's wrong and tells him to talk to her to make him feel better, which angers Jibanyan. Komasan then introduces himself and tells them about the shrine burning. He then proclaims that he wants to overcome his fear, but doesn't know how. Katie and Whisper then offer to help him, with Whisper telling Katie to summon a Yo-kai. She then summons Everfore, which scares Komasan. Katie suggests that the four of them will hide, and attempt to scare him, but to not let himself be scared. After being scared by Katie and Whisper jumping out at him, and Jibanyan outright thretaning him to admit Katie is all his, Komasan finds Everfore. As she turns around and Komasan finds Grumples' face as she's reapplying her Ageless Powder, Komasan is terrified. He claims that this was all a waste of time, before running for his life and urinating himself.
Later, Komasan and Komajiro move into the closet of Katie's room, which was found by Komajiro. Katie is understandably shocked that they moved themselves in.
In It's Important To Save Money, But..., Komasan is impressed when Katie says she'll be going shopping with her mother. Later, as they both act like cheapskates to Katie's father, Komasan is scared that this will tear apart the Forester family with Whisper and Komajiro.
In The Yo-Kai Dreaded By All, Komasan is summoned by Katie to protect her from Fidgephant. He's confused where he is, as he was just about to eat rice balls with Komajiro. Not realising Fidgephant is inspiriting him, Komasan talks about how good Komajiro described the rice balls to be. As he says this, he urinates himself. When he notices, he looks down in horror, as it's the second time he's urinated himself. He flees in shame as Katie apologises for making him pee himself. That night, Katie gives Komasan an ice cream cone as thanks for Komasan protecting her. Komasan is confused by what she meant by protect, since he didn't fight Fidgephant or Cheeksqueek.
Komasan appears in the chapter cover of I'm Free Today So..., but doesn't appear in the chapter itself.
In The Grudge Over Food Is Terrible, Katie asks who ate her snack, telling her Yo-kai roommates to at least ask first. Jibanyan, Whisper and Komajiro deny responsibility, as does Komasan, with a cake shape in his cheek. As Katie tells him the snake was a piece of cake, Komasan cries in an apology as she tells him it's fine. As Katie suggests they bake a pancake, Komasan is excited and gets into an apron with Komajiro. Soon, Komasan with Komajiro eat the pancakes with major intensity, under the influence of Blazion. When Katie gets furious at Blazion and screams at him, Komasan looks on in terror. He later celebrates with a pancake party with the others after they befriend Blazion.
In Mess In The Springdale Hot Springs, Komasan is impressed by the size of the Springdale Hot Springs. Later, Komasan asks why Katie asks Droplette to give the Amazing Milk to Sproink, with her confessing that she can't get in the same bath as him. After Katie chases Sproink away with spoiled milk, Komasan enjoys the hot springs with the rest of the group.
In Sweet Dreams, Komasan appears during Whisper's dream as he dreams that Katie has befriended all the Yo-kai.
In Katie Has Become Enchanting, Komasan appears during the interviews about how charming Katie is, calling her a "darlin' girl". Later, Komasan appears with Jibanyan's of Yo-kai who love Katie passionately, along with Roughraff. He cheers Jibanyan on as he uses his "Paws of Love" and tells Cupistol how much he loves Katie.

Komasan thinks of Katie as very nice and compassionate, and lives in her house with Komajiro. He has also been charmed by her at least slightly, as shown in Chapter 17.
Jibanyan[]
Jibanyan initially was extremely hostile towards Komasan, as he thought he was trying to take Katie away from him. However, living together seems to have made them friends, as shown in later chapters.

Roughraff mugged Komasan soon after he got to Springdale. Despite this, Roughraff and Komasan appear together with Jibanyan in Chapter 17, seemingly showing they don't dislike each other anymore.
