Kyubi (Japanese: キュウビ Kyūbi) is a Shadowside Yo-kai of the Mononoke tribe.
Specifically, this is the appearance of Kyubi for the Shadowside series, 30 years after the original series.
In Yo-kai Watch: Wibble Wobble, his Lightside form is a Rank S Yo-kai, and his Shadowside form is a Rank SS Yo-kai, both of the Mysterious tribe.

Biology[]
In his Shadowside form, Kyubi appears similar to a more feral, quadrupedal version of his appearance in the present series.
His paws and the tips of his nine tails are now purple and magenta in color.
In his Lightside form, Kyubi appears more humanoid, with a mane of yellow hair with red streaks, and wearing a purple kimono with a red obi.
His tails stick out from beneath it, resembling classic depictions of kitsune disguised as humans.

Kyubi can be freed from the future Crank-a-kai with a Gasha Coin, One-Star Coin, Five-Star Coin, Special Coin and Y Coin as a first prize post-game.
Despite having an exclusive quest (Detective Agency Request No.11), he cannot be befriended via this.

Kyubi is a supporting Yo-kai in Yo-kai Watch Shadowside the Movie: The Return of the Oni King.
Kyubi is one of the Yo-kai summoned by Summer with the Yo-kai Watch Arcane to aid her in the fight against Cole.

In SS017 during the events of the fox Yo-kai scaring students case, Kyubi was summoned in his Lightside form by Summer to understand the situation. When Inari attacks the team, Kyubi was summoned in his Shadowside form asking the later to stop, causing Inari to stop her attack and change to her Lightside form upon seeing her fellow fox Yo-kai. Kyubi then listens and understands Inari's reasoning of her actions.
Kyubi makes a brief appearance in SS048.
