Kyubi is a secondary antagonist in Noriyuki Konishi's Yo-kai Watch manga, being the main antagonist in CP097 and a main character in Yo-kai Watch: Wakuwaku Nyanderful Days, being a protagonist alongside Katie Forester.

Kyubi is an anthropomorphic fox Yo-kai who stands quite tall and is covered in thick, golden fur with white belly and legs. Its chest is covered by a thicker patch of purple fur, surrounded by a yellow "trim" around its shoulders, with four fine magenta hairs sticking out. Kyubi has nine tails, each with purple tips, and sports long nails of the same color. Its snout is long and pointed, like its gold-tipped ears, and there are markings on its face that resemble a kitsune theater mask.
He also has a human form that looks like a child the same age as Nathan. He wears a blue sweater over a white shirt and black shorts. He has green eyes and tousled grayish hair, with two upright locks and nine strands on his back that resemble his nine tails.
Personality[]
In the regular manga it is shown that he likes to conquer as if it were a game, he also shows an explosive and selfish personality that only saves someone just to conquer him, he is very sustenance to deception as the trick of Shogunyan, he does not think he can be a good friend maybe because he knows he behaves like a child.
After becoming friends with Nate, Kyubi becomes dedicated to helping others and more serene and calm with whom he talks.
In Nyanderful Days , he has a competitive and headstrong personality, he is explosive in general and more with Frostail, but when he is with Katie he is more peaceful and helps her to conquer her.

Yo-kai Watch manga series[]
Kyubi makes a cameo in the title of CP020.
Kyubi debuts in CP097, he is the antagonist of the chapter, Save Nate to try to conquer him but fails to see that Nate had a Yo-kai watch blames him for his failure. Kyubi shows that he wants to be popular through conquest and tries to conquer Katie but Nate invokes Shogunyan to fight him. Kyubi had everything contracted but Shogunyan proceeded to possess Katie and the latter ends up defeating him from a not very lethal cut, At first he didn't want to be friends with Nate but Kyubi ended up being conquered by Nate's kindness.
Kyubi reappears in CP128, to train Jibanyan to rank up S. He taught him math, athletics and what the aura of an S-rank Yo-kai is and warns Nate that Jibanyan has a chance to lose control and hurt himself with his aura.
He is mentioned by Jibanyan in CP129.
Wakuwaku Nyanderful Days[]
He debuts in ND001, appearing briefly observing Katie, taking an interest in her.
In ND004, he appears as a cameo while Jibanyan is jealous of him.
In ND006, he is mentioned by Venoct at the end of the chapter, telling Katie to beware him.
In ND007, he was fighting with Frostail about "girlfriends for Yo-kai" over human girls. He then goes down to try to seduce girls. Deciding on seducing Katie first, he intentionally bumps into her, almost kissing her. By the end of the chapter, he falls in love with Katie, while Komasan freaks out since he saw him in his human form magically growing tails.
In ND008, during Komasan's flashback, Kyubi accidentally sets fire to the shrine Komasan and Komajiro live at, while furious about Frostail.
In ND009, he appears observing Katie. Later. he tries to get close to Katie, but she's busy with Spenp, Rockabelly and Tattletell. He intimidates the 3 of them to make them give up their medals to Katie, so he can spend time with her.
Later in ND009.5, in her human form, she spends time with Katie at the summer festival. After failing to charm her, he makes Katie faint, and takes her back to her house, then disappearing by the light of the moon.
He is pictured in ND017, having been interviewed as one of the Yo-kai who Katie has charmed.

- In the Nyanderful Days manga, Kyubi continues with the goal of conquering Katie but falls in love with her.
- In the manga his Rank S is recognized.
- He is one of the few Yo-kai whose rank is recognized.
- Unlike his version of the Anime, Kyubi does not possess powers of manipulation.
- The difference between the versions between the manga is that the Nyanderful Days version does it for a bet while the regular manga does it only because for the "conquering" it is a game.
- The difference between the versions between the manga, he does not want to be the lord fox, but it is for a much smaller objective such as a bet or a game depending on the version of the manga.
