"Hailing from the land of the frost, it's the wrestler with legs as thick as glaciers and a heart of ice: MAD MOUNTAIN!"


Mad Mountain (Japanese: ふじのやま Fuji no Yama) is a Rank C, Ice-attribute Yo-kai of the Tough tribe introduced in Yo-kai Watch.

From Yo-kai Watch: Ukiukipedia Kiwami to Yo-kai Watch: Ukiukipedia Gakuen Y, and in Yo-kai Watch 4, he's the part of the Goriki tribe.

As of Yo-kai Watch 2, Pallysol evolves into Scarasol when fused with Mad Mountain. 

In Yo-kai Watch, Mad Mountain is one of the Yo-kai required to unlock Komashura

Biology[]

Mad Mountain is a mountain-shaped humanoid Yo-kai whose skin is colored dark blue and his head is white, further suggesting his mountain-like appearance. His arms and face are cyan-colored and he sports red kumadori (kabuki stage make-up). To complement his sumo-like appearance, he carries a burgundy-colored keshō-mawashi (decorated silk belt worn over the loincloth by higher-rank sumo wrestlers).

Mad Mountain appears behind the Rank C Watch Lock in the Abandoned Tunnel.

He can also be freed from the Crank-a-kai with an Orange Coin.

Yo-kai Watch 2[]

Mad Mountain appears in Cicada Canyon on Mt. Middleton, Sawayama Castle Town at night and on Bony Spirits Way - Entrance.

He can also be freed from the present Crank-a-kai with an Orange Coin.

Yo-kai Watch 3[]

Mad Mountain can be found in Shopper's Row and Nocturne Hospital.

He can also be found in Blasters T in the Tomb of King Clupharaon ① and the Sandstorm and Tornado Labyrinths.

Yo-kai Watch 4[]

Mad Mountain is exclusive to the Yo-kai Sumo Ring. His souls are rewarded for beating the Intermediate Arena and can be bought in Dismarelda's shop.

Yo-kai Watch Blasters[]

Mad Mountain can be found on Patrol Missions in Harrisville.

He can also be obtained as a White Dog Squad first prize from the mission, "Hunt for Gargaros Begins!".

He is also required for the Muscle Heads Yo-kai Circle.

Yo-kai Watch: Wibble Wobble[]

Mad Mountain can be found in stage 74, 94, 120, 134, 143 secret stage 7-5, stage 16 and 21 on Super Mystery Way and stage 32 and 36 on Ultra Mystery Way.

He can also be freed from the Crank-a-kai with an Orange Coin or a Mystery Coin.

Etymology[]

  • "Mad Mountain" is a combination of the words "mad" and "mountain, because he is a mad mountain.
  • "Ghelo" is a corruption of "gelo" (frost).
  • "Montaña Loca" is a direct translation of "Mad Mountain".
  • "Lama Laya" is a combination of "Choléra" (Cholera) with Himalaya.
  • "Fùshìshān" (富士山) means "Mount Fuji".
  • "Fùshì Xuěshān" (富士雪山) means "Snowy Mount Fuji".
  • "Seolsanssireumkkun" (설산씨름꾼) means "Snow Mountain Wrestler".

Origin[]

Mad Mountain seems to be modeled after the Mt. Fuji (often called Fuji-no-Yama or Fuji-san in Japan) and sumo wrestlers.
