Mass Mutterer (Japanese: プリズンブレイカー Purizun Bureikā) is a Boss Yo-kai which first appeared in Yo-kai Watch Blasters.
In Yo-kai Watch: Wibble Wobble, he is a Rank SS Yo-kai of the Eerie tribe.

Biology[]
Mass Mutterer has an uncanny resemblance to Manjimutt, except that he himself is taller and muscular. He has tan skin, brown body fur, eyes with golden yellow irises, black sclera, and pointed ends, sharp teeth, purple markings that are found surrounding his eyes, and black claws. His hair on the top was shaped into a tall turquoise mohawk while the lower part is brown and straight, and his tail is a large, jagged wisp of the same former color. He wears prison clothing that are ripped in many places, mostly at the ends, and broken chains on his wrists and one on the right ankle.
Mass Mutterer was frequently seen holding Sam, who is supposedly a character that debuted in The Great Escape mini corner. Unlike the original, this version of Sam has sharp teeth and stitches on his body and mouth.
As a skilled criminal, Mass Mutterer has a variety of methods to gain the upper hand in battle, primarily using dynamite and knives to attack. In addition, Sam is shown to be quite strong, able to knock any Yo-kai out of his way.
Profile[]
Yo-kai Watch Blasters[]
Mass Mutterer appears as the boss of Chapter 9, fought in Shopper's Row. Upon beating him he can also be fought in Big Boss. In his second phase, at about half health and lower, Sam will appear to aid him. Sam will wave his arms and run forwards in a straight line. Defeating Sam will cause Mass Mutterer to be distraught and will trigger Chance Time. Once Chance Time is over, Sam will respawn again soon after.
Attacks
Convict Kick - Kicks a Yo-kai 2-4 times before unleashing a spin kick attack.
Knives Out - Throws 3 knives in a crows foot shape
Blow This Joint - Tosses dynamite bundles onto 3 random Yo-kai.
Prison Break (Soultimate) - Becomes more powerful by increasing his stats.

Mass Mutterer Aura - Gives a x2 boost VS Tattleterror in the next battle

Mass Muttercloth - A cloth from his prison uniform. Worn while escaping, it’s all torn up.
Mass Mutterchain - A chain from his shackles. It took enormous power to get them off.
Super
Fine Muttercloth - It’s easy to spot the difference! A fine prison uniform that feels cozy.
Strong Mutterchain - In order to prevent him from escaping, strong chains were specially made.
Ultra
Fancy Muttercloth - Energy was woven into this cloth. The jailbreaker’s dignity oozes from it.
Flashy Mutterchain - Chains designed by the jailbreaker. Only the jailbreak king could do this.

Yo-kai Watch: Wibble Wobble[]
Mass Mutterer occasionally appears in certain weeks in Score Attack, the players who score the highest will be the ones who befriend him.
Yo-kai Watch 3[]
Mass Mutterer appears very occasionally after capturing a set of Yo-Criminals, you can be awarded a lot of points for beating him. He must be chased down and caught just like regular Yo-Criminals. Similar to Yo-kai Watch Blasters, Sam will spawn in during battle. Sometimes, Mass Mutterer will throw a bomb onto the player's field. The player's Yo-kai must walk into the bomb before it explodes to send it back. If Sam is on the enemy field, he may throw the bomb back once thrown. In the Sukiyaki version and international versions, he can also be battled as a boss in the Blasters T mode.

Etymology[]
- Prison Breaker references his ability to break out of any prison.
- Mass Mutterer is a portmanteau of "mass murderer" and mutt.
- In German, "Ausbrecherkönig" translates as Fugitive King.
- In Spanish, "Murmullamasa" is a portmanteau of murmullar (murmur) and masa (as in "mass")
Trivia[]
- Some of Mass Mutterer's traits are carried from Manjimutt in the anime, specifically from Manjimutt Season 2: The Great Escape, such as his name and appearance -which mirror Manjimutt's stay in Alcatraz- and his usage of Sam.
- In Yo-kai Watch: Wibble Wobble, his befriending message has the use of the word "damn", which is one of the very few instances of mild language to be used in an official localization.
- This catchphrase was replaced with 'Doggone it' in Yo-kai Watch Blasters and onwards.
