Meal Minigame

The Meal Minigame is a minigame in Yo-kai Watch 2 and Yo-kai Watch 3 where the player must time button presses to eat a meal. It's the only place where the player can acquire the Love-Packed Rice Ball fusion item.

Overview[]

The minigame uses the A, B, and Y buttons on the 3DS (or the touch screen) and the player must press them when the prompt appears on screen. The later the player leaves it to press the button, the better a score they get. In Yo-kai Watch 2, golden circles close in on each plate on the table. Pressing the correct button as they turn orange gives the best result. In Yo-kai Watch 3, a spiral into a symbol of the corresponding button appears instead. The best time to press the button is just a little after the spiral has disappeared behind the circle prompt. The X button is additionally used in Yo-kai Watch 3. Either Hungramps or Grubsnitch will appear and the button must be pressed to shoo them away with the same timing as the regular buttons (albeit with no spirals).

In Yo-kai Watch 3, the player can fill up a piggybank in their home to get a bonus at the next dinner. This can be done once per in-game day. The family will buy a fancier meal with their savings. The bank in the Adams house is in the kitchen and the bank in the Thomas house is under the TV. This version of the minigame has 40 points instead of the usual 30.

In Yo-kai Watch 2, the areas you can play the meal minigame at any time are the player character's home (the Adams House or Forester House) between 4pm and 8pm, the player's grandmother's house at that same time and randomly on the train if the player has over $10.00.

In Yo-kai Watch 3, the areas you can play the meal minigame are in the Adams House in BBQ (before the story is completed), the Adams House in Springdale (after the story is completed), the Thomas House and on the train.
