Mera Raido (Japanese: 雷堂 メラ Raidō Mera) is one of the main characters in Y School Heroes series. He is a second-year student at Y-Academy specializing in sports and was formerly a member of the School Mafia, but is currently a member of the YSP Club.
Mera also owns a YSP Watch which can make him transform into Shishi O when near Kazuma Shishiguro and Yami Shishi O when near an unknown Onryo. By using the Majin Watch, he can transform into Namahage O when near Snartle. He is the reincarnated counterpart of Blazion.

Mera Raido resembles Blazion as a tan-skinned human wearing a blue jacket with an orange interior, and a black shirt underneath. He also wears blue pants and brown loafers. Similar to his in-universe counterpart, Mera has red and orange hair resembling Blazion's mane, along with a scar on his left cheek resembling the scar Blazion has on his forehead.
Personality[]
Mera Raido in his past was someone extremely rude and basically a criminal.He is ashamed to be nice to others since he wants to appear to be mean, After joining the YSP Club, Mera showed that he is not as aggressive as people thought and wanted to help defeat evil Onryo or evil Aliens. He has shown a rivalry for Ryusuke Kyubi, as he sees him as a presumptuous rich man which shows a disdain towards wealthy people. Even in his Yo-kai Hero form, Shishi O, he still wants to intimidate others by expressing himself with threatening voices and poses.
In episode 10, it was later revealed by Mataro that he is actually good hearted, but doesn't dare to show it, hence he fakes being bad to hide it.

Jinpei Jiba[]
Jinpei is the one who defeated Mera and made him join the YSP Club and technically its leader. Upon first meeting Jinpei they were enemies, but after his defeat, and the promise of Jinpei to help him afford his tuition, he finds respect for Jinpei and begins to refer to him as his "Bro".
Sandayu Koma[]
At first, Mera was an enemy of Koma and Jinpei; but later they became partners of the same Club, and currently he is an ally.
Mataro Tamada[]
At first, Mera only thought of Mataro as a joke; but when he became Shining Boy, Mera took him more respect as a fellow YSP Club, and when Mataro became completely T-Dine, Mera respects him even more.
Fubuki Himekawa[]
Fubuki is an ally and partner in the YSP Club, and they interact during combat.

He has a great rivalry against him for the reason that Mera sees Ryusuke as a well-off and they fight to see who is stronger, but on many occasions he is left aside and can fight side by side with Ryusuke.

Kazuma and Mera have a close relationship since Kazuma taught him to fight street style, he saved him twice during his childhood and he is the one who helps him fight against evil Onryo. He was a mentor for Mera and currently they are colleagues.

Nozuchika was their former leader before joining the YSP Club; but after the School Mafia allied with the YSP Club they reconciled and became allies.

Chiaki was an ally of him in of the Mafia, but left him to join the YSP Club; however, after the YSP Club allied with the School Mafia, they reconciled.

In episode 2, Mera fought Ryusuke using cleaning equipment when fighting on cleaning up the classroom at the end of the school day. Their fight encouraged Jinpei, and moments later, all students joined in the fight with cleaning utensils. It eventually all ended when Sandayu pulled down Mataro's pants revealing underwear with a frog design on it, making everyone burst out into laughter.
A bit later, Mera transformed into Shishi O and assisted Jinpei against Cyclops, but their attacks had no effect until Kengo Benimaru decided to cut Cyclops' horn and he returned to his original state.
In episode 10, it is revealed that Mera has a little sister named Hinoko Raido.
