Sly (Japanese: ミッチー Micchī) also known as Slimamander (Japanese: ミツマタノヅチ Mitsumata Nozuchi), is a Rank C Shadowside Yo-kai of the Uwanosora tribe introduced in Yo-kai Watch Shadowside: The Return of the Oni King.
Specifically, this is the appearance of Slimamander for the Shadowside series, 30 years after the original series.
In Yo-kai Watch: Wibble Wobble and Yo-kai Sangokushi: Kunitori Wars, his Lightside form is a Rank A Yo-kai of the Shady tribe. In Yo-kai Watch World, he is a Rank S Yo-kai. He also has an awoken Rank SS form.

Biology[]
Appearance[]
In his Lightside form, Sly appears as a muscular, humanoid Yo-kai with dark, pink skin and a single, red eye. His entire body is covered in a skin-tight, purple suit with dark purple gloves and boots. He is also wearing a belt that has a design of an eye with a tongue on its buckle. Sly also has shoulder pads that resemble Slimamander's heads with their tongues poking out.
In his Shadowside form, he resembles Slimamander from the present series a whole lot more. His skin looks rougher, spiky even. His three mouths have fangs now, and they lack the protrusions resembling eyelashes. His tongues are thinner, and his hands have sharp claws.
Personality[]
Sly often likes to be dramatic, and appears to hold himself in high regard. In spite of his muscular physique, he is actually very weak. He tends to have sparkles on his animations. He is also overprotective of Summer.
Abilities[]
Sly can fire a pink laser from his eye to petrify anyone it hits, but it only works on weak foes, as shown during Arachnia's arc. He possesses decent physical fighting abilities but has terrible defenses. He appears to be immortal, as he survived a drop from a high place in SS013 and was able to rebirth himself in SS025.
Profile[]
Yo-kai Watch 4[]
Sly is the boss of Chapter 1, and can be refought at the park in Tatsumi-kawabata North. His boss is also part of 2 optional quests. His playable form is part of Summer's team when she becomes playable at the beginning of Chapter 2.
He also has a transformation in the form of Super Sly, which can be unlocked by equipping the Hyper Suit, which is obtained by collecting 100 Micchy Marks.
Boss Battle[]
Sly's Shadowside moves are pretty simple. He can swing one of his heads like how Gargaros swings his club, a stronger version of Shockwave Stomp, a triple charge in front and his Sly Beam. As long as the player stands out of range of all the moves, they won't take damage. Sly is stunned when the Yp drain is used to suck his eyeball and will take Damage when the eyeball is attacked.
Y School Heroes: Bustlin' School Life[]
Sly is available by purchasing the Popular Student Pack 2, where he, alongside Junior, are unlocked as Helper Yo-kai in the game.

Relationships[]
Summer Adams[]
Sly appears to have a strong infatuation towards Summer, to the point he always tries to save her from attacks in every episode. However, the feeling isn't mutual, but after his apparent death in SS025, Summer is still distraught that he's gone.
Whisper 2040[]
The two get along very well. The two share a fondness for dad jokes and are often seen showing off their muscles.
Komajiro (Shadowside)[]
Since he is technically a snake, Komajiro harbors a little resentment towards him, though after SS034 Komajiro respects him more. When Sly annoys Komajiro, he pokes his eye with his tongue.
In the anime[]
Yo-kai Watch Shadowside: The Return of the Oni King[]
Sly is one of the first Yo-kai that Summer meets. He chases Summer when Whisper has her crank the Crank-a-kai, where he is freed in his Shadowside form, and is defeated by Himoji (Shadowside). His Keystone is then given to Summer, which she uses to summon him, and he begins to act as her guardian, though he is usually seen with little success, whether going too far with petrifying Katie and Tate, or getting launched away when hit by a truck. Later, he is one of the Yo-kai summoned by Summer with the Yo-kai Watch Arcane to aid her in the fight against Oniou Rasen.
Yo-kai Watch Shadowside[]
Sly continues to appear as one of Summer's Yo-kai friends. Throughout the anime, Sly is shown to be quite fond of Summer, always coming to her rescue from other Yo-kai even when she does not ask for his help.
Etymology[]
- "Micchy" is a nickname derived from "Mitsumata Nozuchi" (see Slimamander#Etymology).
- "Sly" is a nickname derived from "Slimamander".
Trivia[]
- It's possible that Sly foreshadowed Summer being Juno's reincarnation as seen in the ending: Funky Bugibuba
- Objectively speaking, he serves as comic relief for the more serious Shadowside series, often blasting off after being defeated and often causing his Super Sly upgrade to wear off by taking too much time to explain it.
- He and Whisper are fans of dad jokes and often show off their muscles for fun
- Sly's verbal tic is Hahi (Japanese: ハヒ〜ン Hahi〜n).
- It is revealed in SS032 that his "Stellar Slug" can petrify his target(s), though it generally only lasts for about ten minutes.
- In SS025, it is shown that he is adept at drawing.
