His name, "Morishi," is derived from "Kazuki Morishita." The title of "Taitei" is used for some monarchs in Japanese.

Morishi Taitei is based on Kazuki Morishita, CEO of GungHo Online Entertainment, who co-developed Yo-kai Watch World.

Morishi Taitei is one of four Yo-kai based on corporate executives and producers involved with particular Yo-kai Watch games, others include Hinozall (and his variants), Maou Koi, and Dai Maou Shibu.
