Biology[]

In his Lightside form, Mushbarber is a vaguely humanoid Yo-kai, who resembles a barber's pole, having white skin with both blue and red stripes. He has green eyes with yellow scleras, purple markings around them, and bright pink lips. The brown hair on his head is styled as "the mushroom cut", and he also has a belt, alongside various barber tools, like scissors.

In his Shadowside form, Kirisaki Joker is a humanoid Yo-kai, resembling a jester in a blue and red outfit, wielding two giant scissor-like swords. His eyes are yellow with no sclera, and has a wicked smile.

In battle, Kirisaki Joker can attack his opponents with his scissor-like swords, and can also levitate.

Yo-kai Watch Shadowside[]

Mushbarber was originally a human named Kou. As a child, he was harassed by his classmates after getting a haircut that made him resemble a mushroom. After a girl in his class with the same haircut stood up for him, he came to love the hairstyle, and as an adult, he became a barber that specialized in it.

After dying in a traffic accident, he became a Yo-kai that continues to give people the "mushroom cut" hairstyle.

Etymology[]

Mushbarber is a portmanteau of the English words mushroom (as in the mushroom hairstyle) and barber.

Kirisaki Joker means "Joker the Ripper", a play on Kirisaki Jakku (Japanese: 切り裂きジャック "Ripping Jack"), the Japanese name for Jack the Ripper.
