No Time For Fishin'!

No Time for Fishin'! is a Key Quest that is part of the story of Yo-kai Watch 2 and tasks the player with learning the Fishing mechanic of the game. The quest can be started by talking to Walkappa at the waterfall at the top of Gloworm Grove located in Harrisville. It is recommended to be completed around Level 11.

Quest[]

As part of the main story, the player needs to complete several tasks while waiting for their grandma to cook dinner. While waiting, the player learns how to Fish from Walkappa at the waterfall. Walkappa is Inspirited by Fidgephant, causing the player to take them out in order to obtain the Fishing Rod. After obtaining the rod, Walkappa challenges the player to a fishing contest, making the player catch three Carp in order to progress. The quest concludes with the player winning the contest and Walkappa being Inspirited again.

Pre-quest[]

A Yo-kai landed in Harrisville and wants to do some fishing, but he quickly found himself in a...high-pressure situation. Maybe I should go help him out. He's near the river in northwest Harrisville.

During quest[]

I found Walkappa by the river in Harrisville, but he wasn't fishing. The Fidgephant have him trying to avoid an accident! Let's chase away three Fidgephant so Walkappa can fish!
Walkappa gave us a Fishing Rod as a thank you gift and immediately challenged me to a fishing contest! Let's see if I can catch three Carp before Walkappa can!

Quest complete[]

I showed Walkappa my winning Carp, but he was too busy to notice. Too busy being Inspirited by a Fidgephant! Again! I wish we weren't around when he decided to give in to nature's call.

Guidance[]

Fidgephants can be found by the river and are Rank D. The player has to head a little further south down the western path than the quest beginning to reach spots where Fidgephant can be found. Water spots often have two pieces of vertical bamboo sticking out of the water.
The player only needs to fight three Fidgephant in battle, not three encounters so if the player encounters one and they bring two allies, that is enough.
Return to Walkappa at the waterfall mouth.
Search water spots like before however avoid ones where Yo-kai are as fish will not appear there. Carp are medium sized and a grey-green colour.
The fishing minigame can also be completed by pressing the A button rapidly instead of using the Stylus.

This quest introduces the fishing mechanic and gives the player a fishing rod.
