In the anime[]

He makes his debut in EP122 and inspirits Bear. In the end, he befriends, Nate, Whisper, Jibanyan, and Roughraff. In life he regularly wrecked his car but said "ma ikka" every time. Roughraff disagrees with this attitude and forces Nate, Whisper and Jibanyan inside as he drives him all over town. Eventually, on the outskirts of town, Oh Wheel learns his lesson and gives Nate his medal from his glove compartment. Unfortunately, he also ran out of gas, necessitating everyone to push him back to town. Even to this he still says "ma ikka," earning a frustrated response from everyone.

Etymology[]

  • "Maikkā" is a portmanteau of (Japanese: "ま、いっか" "Ma Ikka", "Oh, well") and "my car" (Japanese: マイカー Maikā).
  • "Oh Wheel" is a portmanteau of the saying "Oh well," a phrase meaning "I don't care," and "wheel".
  • "Prudencio" is a corruption of prudencia ("prudence"), which is ironic considering that Oh Wheel doesn't care about the possible consequences.
  • "Guido" comes from "guido" (I drive) while also being a male first name.
  • "Otto" is a corruption of "auto" ("car" or "automobile") and the name "Otto".
  • "Kain Wagnis" is a combination of "Wagnis" ("risky adventure") and a corruption of the word "Kein" ("no" or "not any").
  • "Kolesun" is derived from "kolseo" ("wheel").
  • "Suànle chēchē" is a combination of "suànle" ("forget about it" or "let it be") and "chēchē" ("childish way to refer to a car").

Trivia[]

  • Despite Oh Wheel being a 'Merican Yo-kai, he is right-hand drive, even though vehicles (except postal vans) in the USA are left-hand drive.
  • Oh Wheel's variant in Yo-kai Watch World called MaicarGOGO, has his English name of the original variant on front of it, making it the second time that an English name was actually used in Japanese, the first being Nathan Adams car in EP120 of the anime.
  • Oh Wheel's "random" nicknames are: Dougie, TJ, Carlo, and Wheelton.
