What Yo-kai Watch Wiki is not!


Before creating Yo-kai articles, you must first start with the specially designed Yo-kai template. After inserting the Yo-kai template, you can add text that serves as an introduction of the specific Yo-kai. Here you will find on how the design must be fixed:

  • {{Yo-kai}}, there is an explanation on how this template should be used on the Yo-kai articles. Please, do not add the template in a misplaced way, such as adding the template parameters next to each other.

There are important headers that must be placed in those articles. Headers that are proven unworthy on this wiki must be removed from the Yo-kai articles. Here is a list which headers must not be added in the Yo-kai articles:

  • Gallery - Galleries are not allowed to be included in the Yo-kai articles. This is due that contributors that are not seriously helping out on this wiki will add images in the Yo-kai articles, but there are also contributors that are adding fan arts in the Yo-kai articles due to their popularity. This must be prevented by removing galleries from the Yo-kai articles.
  • Powers and abilities - This header comes from anime-based wiki's that are from the following genre's: action genre, comedy, supernatural, comedy-drama, fantasy, or anything that is anime, manga action-based. Although, Yo-kai Watch has a cross-media in the anime section, the game data serves as the actual powers and abilities section.
  • Relationships - Information of relationships can be added in the personality section of the character articles. This is to prevent shipping that are not truely confirmed by information released from Level-5 or from TV Tokyo or anything connected with the Yo-kai Watch franchise.

The main design for the Yo-kai articles goes as followed:

  • Introduction - Introduction must not be placed as an header. This is a short summary text of the Yo-kai that is placed after adding the Yo-kai infobox. An example of the article design on how to write an short summary about the Yo-kai, please see the article: Jibanyan or USApyon.
  • Appearances - This header contains cross-medial appearances of the Yo-kai, such as that Jibanyan appears in all three Yo-kai Watch games, the anime series, and the animation movies and side games. For the episodes, do not add every episodes that the Yo-kai appears in. Write it in this way:

If an Yo-kai only appear in one video game or in one season,, the list must be changed to:

Each Yo-kai plays a different role in each game entry and each movie entry. So it should be changed to an accurate way.

  • Biography - Design, personality and abilities information under one header. This sums up the headers that shpuld not be used on this wiki, which are: Appearance, Personality, Powers and Abilities.
  • Profile - This header contains the Yo-kai respective appearance story. This sums up were the player can befriend a Yo-kai in different games released by Level-5. This replaces the header: befriend.
  • Game data - This contains a list of important information that are coming from the games. This contains sub-headers such as:
    • Evolution - Use the {{evolution}} template to place which Yo-kai evolves. Using this template is mandatory, even if the Yo-kai has no evolution group.
    • Fusion - Use the {{fusion}} template to place which Yo-kai fuses with another Yo-kai. Using this template is mandatory, even if the Yo-kai has no evolution group.
    • Stats - Use the {{stats}} template to place the complete stats of the Yo-kai.
      • Soul stats
      • Buster stats
    • Attribute tolerance - Use the {{tolerance}} template to add the template of the Yo-kai tolerance of other Yo-kai.
  • Guidance - This header contains videos from our affiliate AbdallahSmash. This section contains videos footage of how to get a certain Yo-kai in their respective games. Only videos of AbdallahSmash are allowed due to its affiliation with Level-5, the creator of Yo-kai Watch.
  • Etymology - What the meaning of each kanji in the Yo-kai name means, if any, or what the character name means in any possible ways. This also counts for officially localized names by Nintendo.
    • Origin - Where the Yo-kai is influenced from. Do not add the asterisk before the texts of a Yo-kai.
  • Trivia - Information that are proven to be useless to input under any of those headers above. Those are very important info that are not really known in the games or animation, as they are coming from official interviews from the company and even from its creator.
  • In other languages - Use the {{language}} template to mark different names of the Yo-kai in different countries.

Yo-kai articles don't

Do not add quotes, relationships, or anything else unrelated in the Yo-kai articles. Do as well not create headers and leave them empty. Write articles in a encyclopedic way rather creating a "guideline" article. Do not place images in a extremely random spot in the article. Do not re-arrange the Yo-kai article design, as it is mandatory to keep it up to that design.

  • When adding episode titles, do not place EP001, but its respective episode title to know in which episode title that even happened.
  • Adding galleries are prohibited at the Yo-kai articles due to contributors only adding images and not adding information, as this wiki will become an image dump rather informative.
