Biology[]
In his Lightside form, he takes the appearance of a small, white child-like oni with black hair, a yellow horn and eyebrows, pointy elf-like ears, blue eyes with yellow scleras, and small claws on his hands and feet. Around his neck, he wears a black and yellow bib with a lightning bolt emerging from the bottom.
In his Shadowside form, he becomes more muscular, his horn, hair, and claws grow longer, he grows small fangs next to his mouth, and his eyes become completely blue. Along with his shadowside transformation, he now has black markings around his midarm as well as black and blue bracelets around his wrist. He also wears multiple of Raijin the god's drums in a necklace-like fashion. He also wears a yellow and black loincloth around his waist seemingly replacing his bib. Another accessory of his is the two bands on each of his legs one around the thigh and the other his ankle. He also has deep gold-colored clouds surrounding him.
Rai-chan seems to strike people with lightning in anger but seems to hold back when striking small children. He is the counterpart to Fuu-kun. They are members of Ananta's entourage, similar to how Aristokat and Duke Doggy work for Zazel.
Profile[]
Yo-kai Watch 4[]
Rai-chan appears infrequently throughout the story.
After completing Chapter 10 and obtaining the S Rank Watch, Quest No.40 will appear. Upon completing this quest, Rai-chan (with Fuu-kun) will be waiting next to Lord Ananta, and you will gain the ability to battle them "once per day" (you can soft-reset before battling them). After battling them, there is a rare chance they will both join your party at level 57.

Etymology[]
Rai-chan is a nickname for Raijin, adding the suffix chan, the childish version of san, which refers to children and girls.
The name 'Raijin' is derived from the Japanese words kaminari (雷, meaning thunder) and kami (神, meaning god).
Origin[]
Raijin is based on the youkai of the same name. Raijin, also known as Yakusa no ikazuchi no kami, Kaminari-sama, and Raiden-sama, is a god of lightning, thunder, and storms in Japanese mythology and the Shinto religion. Raijin is typically depicted with fierce and aggressive facial expressions, standing atop a cloud, and is shown beating on drums. The drums are often shown to have the comma-like tomoe symbol drawn on them. Raijin is often depicted as a protector and/or warrior figure within Japanese temples and shrines.
The animalistic appearance of both forms may draw inspiration from Raijū, a thunder beast that accompanies Raijin. Raijū is commonly depicted as having canine traits.
