The Yo-kai-only Yo-kai Detective Team (Japanese: 妖怪だけの妖怪探偵団 Yōkai dake no Yōkai Tantei-dan) is the 34th episode of the Yo-kai Watch Shadowside anime. It was broadcasted in Japan on November 30, 2018.
Summary[]
One day, Sly and Komajiro argue over “which one of them is senpai?” Sly argues that he is senpai, since he joined the Yo-kai Detective Team first, and Komajiro argues that he is senpai, since he has been at the shrine of Bruno's family for a very long time. Whisper, who can’t bear to watch them any longer, suggests that the one who first solves a strange incident can be senpai. And so, Sly and Komajiro compete to solve the strange incident regarding “Nitanita-san”, about which there has been a lot of posts recently. Going by the posts, it seems that “Nitanita-san” suddenly jumps out of street corners to startle people. And also, appearently his “widely grinning” smile is really creepy. Sly and Komajiro both investigate their own way, but which one will win the detective battle, and secure the throne of senpai?

Trivia[]
- This is the only episode in Yo-kai Watch Shadowside wherein no Yo-kai are summoned.
- Nitanita-san's steamroller attack is a clear reference to the iconic Dio's "Road Roller da!" scene in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 3 (Stardust Crusaders), where he drops down a steamroller onto Jotaro while the time is stopped in an attempt to finish him down, even quoting the name.
- The reference is more notable in that the steamroller in Nitanita-san's rendition of the attack sports the word "MUDA" (lit. useless), used regularly by Dio, emblazoned in its front.
- There are some diferences, however; Nitanita-san does not stop time in order to render his opponents helpless, and while in the original scene Jotaro tries to plow the vehicle onto safety by using his Stand's fists because he can move through stopped time for a while, in Yo-kai Watch's rendition Lil' Acala effortlessly slices the steamroller for time is flowing normally.
- Tate wears the Yo-kai Watch Arcane for the sixth time.
- This is Sly and Whisper's second major role in an episode and Junior's second major role in an episode since his debut.
- This is Komajiro's second major role since his debut episode.
- This is the second time wherein the humans of the Yo-kai Detectice Agency are not the main characters of an episode, with the first being in episode 11.
