Shin Shimomachi (Japanese: 下町シン Shimomachi Shin) is one of the main characters that appear in the Yo-kai Watch series, who first appeared as the protagonist of Yo-kai Watch: Forever Friends and as a playable character in Yo-kai Watch 4.

He owns the Yo-kai Watch Elda Zero, which was given to him by Tae's grandmother.

Shin is a young boy with tan skin, scruffy denim blue hair and gray eyes.

He wears a beige sweatshirt with an orange stripe on either shoulder. He also wears dark blue shorts and black shoes with white soles.

Itsuki and Shin.

Itsuki is Shin's best friend. The two quickly bonded after he saved him from suicide, and grew closer as they plotted to defeat Shien and bring back the stolen souls of humans. Shin feels so strongly connected with Itsuki, that he wishes to become a Yo-kai so they can be together after he returns to the Yo-kai World.

Tae Arihoshi

Tae ends up marrying Shin after the main events of the movie, which implies they have gained romantic feelings for each other.

Yo-kai Watch: Forever Friends

Shin is a poor boy from the 60s, living happily despite his poverty. However, after his mother dies, who was his only family, he falls into deep despair.

After meeting Yo-kai like Nekomata, and being saved by Itsuki, who also lost his family, as well as Tae, a girl who can see Yo-kai, the group of children starts planning for a way to return the souls of the boys' lost family members.
