Sing Kong (Japanese: シングコング, Shingu Kongu) is a Rank C Lightning-attribute 'Merican Yo-kai of the Tough tribe introduced in Yo-kai Watch 3.

Biology

Sing Kong is a golden yellow gorilla with a pale yellow bare face and stomach, and spiky hair with a yellow-orange streak coming from the forehead to the back of his head. He wears a black leather jacket with spike studs on the shoulders and denim blue pants with the belt buckle on the belt having the letter K. Sing Kong is seen holding a microphone attached to a stand.

Whoever Sing Kong Inspirits always listens and/or sings to music so loud that it annoys the people around them.

Sing Kong appears at night in the Sunset Mall and in Hopper's Gorge.

He can also be freed from the Dream Wheel with a One-Star Coin and an Orange Coin. He can be freed from both Crank-a-kai with a Beaming Coin, Platinum Dream Coin, Wisdom Dream Coin, G2 Dream Coin, G4 Dream Coin, Super Orange Coin and an Ultra Orange Coin.

Sing Kong is required during Chapter 5 to power up Blazikong T.

He is also required for the Perfect Harmony Yo-kai Circle.

Etymology

• "Sing Kong" is a pun on King Kong and sing.
• "Peter Punki" might be a reference to Peter Punk, an Argentinian sitcom that aired on Disney XD (the same channel where Yo-kai Watch aired). It might also be a homage to Swedish punk artist Peter Punk that sadly passed away in 2009.
• "Punk Kong" is a combination of "punk" and "kong".

• Sing Kong's "random" nicknames are: Keith, Mel, Per and Mervyn.
• Despite being a ‘Merican Yo-Kai, he can also be found in Springdale and befriended there.
  • This somewhat makes sense due to him being need in Hailey Anne’s Story in Springdale.
