Slippup (Japanese: 口すべらし Kuchisuberashi) is a Rank E, Ice-attribute Yo-kai of the Mysterious tribe introduced in Yo-kai Watch 3.

Slippup is a dog-like Yo-kai with yellow eyes and aqua stripes located between its eyes and on the tip of its ears and tail. He wears a black shirt and ice skates on his feet. He also has a pink thick long tongue which he seems to constantly stick out

Slippup causes the people it inspirits to have 'slips of the tongue' (minor mistakes in writing/speech).

Slippup can be found under cars in Uptown Springdale, under cars, garbage and vending machines Sparkopolis and in garbage and under cars in San Fantastico in sunny weather as well as the Shady Parking Lot, the Junk Alley and the Daydream Domain.

He can also be found in Blasters T in the Masked Labyrinth and the Snowstorm and Blizzard Labyrinths.

Etymology[]

  • "Kuchisuberashi" comes from Kuchi (Japanese: Mouth) and Suberashi (Japanese: すべらし Slide).
  • "Slippup" is a play of slip up with pup, referring to him being a dog.
  • "Fettnapf-Fido" comes from the phrase "In den Fettnapf treten" (putting one's foot in one's mouth) and "Fido", a common dog name.
  • "Metepatas" comes from the phrase "Meter la pata" (make mistakes).
  • "Scappacan" is a combination of "(lasciarsi) scappare [an information]" (to slip up, to say an information you weren't supposed to) and "cane" (dog)

Trivia[]

  • In the Japanese version of Yo-kai Watch 3, Slippup alludes to having a wife when receiving his favorite food. In episode 114 of the anime, it's revealed that said wife is Lafalotta.
  • Slippup's "random" nicknames are: Ronald, Lyle, Slippy, and Byron.
