Etymology[]

Kirisugirisu is a portmanteau of kirigirisu (Japanese: 螽斯 "long-horned grasshopper") with kirisuteru (Japanese: 切り捨てる "to cut down"), linking his profession as a barber. His English name Snippity Cricket is a portmanteau of the Walt Disney character Jiminy Cricket with snip, referring to his trade as a barber.

"Luigi Longueras" is derived from Lluis Llongueras, a spanish hairdresser and multifaceted artist, with "Luigi" being the italian variant of "Lluis".

Origin[]

Will be based on the Yōkai Kamikiri

Trivia[]

  • Snippity Cricket was teased to be a Rank B Yo-kai when he was revealed in magazine scans.
  • On the Amazon Instant Video listings of his segment in the anime, he is erronously called "Crickety Snip" which may have been an earlier localized name for him.
  • In Snippity Cricket's episode of the Latin Spanish dub of the anime, he was accidentally called "Chapulín," which is the Spanish name for Hoppy-go-Lucky.
  • He and Lady Longnek are the only Slippery Tribe Yo-kai to not resemble a reptile, aquatic animal or something that is slimy/slippery.
