Springdale Underground Waterway (Japanese: 桜町地下水道 Sakuramachi-chi gesuidō) is an area that appears in the Yo-kai Watch series. It is the sewer system of Springdale.
In the games[]
Yo-kai Watch[]
The Springdale Underground Waterway can be accessed at the start of the game however certain parts of it are blocked off by Rank gates. Some doors will be locked from one side so the player must travel to the other side to open the gates. There are three levers about the waterway that the player must turn on in order to access the centre area. The three Yo-kai for the quest Rank A Challenge! reside in the Springdale Underground Waterway.
The waterway entrances are in the east of the Catwalk in Uptown Springdale, central west of Uptown Springdale (south-west of the florist) through a tunnel the player can crawl through, in the Shady Back Alley in Uptown Springdale, in the far central-east in Uptown Springdale, in the Hidden Side Street in Blossom Heights, down the steps north-east of the bike shop in Blossom Heights, in the Academy Shortcut in Downtown Springdale, in the Delivery Bay in Downtown Springdale, in the Shopping Street Narrows in Shopper's Row, in the far centre-west in Downtown Springdale, in the far north-west in Breezy Hills
Yo-kai Watch 2[]
The Springdale Underground Waterway plays a similar role to in the first game but now there are young children guarding the doors on one side. The player must approach the child from behind to scare them away and unlock the gate. If they arrive from the other side, the child wont let them pass. In order to access the centre room, the player now needs three passes instead of the levers. These passes are found in other places than the waterway. The northern exit is blocked off by a Rank C watch lock.
The locked doors in the north-east must be approached from the north, the eastern door from the south, both south-eastern from the south, the south-western along the slim corridor from the south, the door north of this from the north, the doors in the north-west from the south and the northern doors from the east.
Yo-kai Watch 3[]
In Yo-kai Watch 3, the Springdale Underground Waterway has undergone a drastic change. The large map is gone and replaced with smaller areas viewed from the side. Frogetmenot's seven followers can be found here, and some areas still have wild Yo-kai.
Neon Town, accessed from the Catwalk, has a bunch of neon signs on the walls and human NPCs to talk to, as well as one of Frogetmenot's Followers.
Secret Space, accessed from the tunnel in the west of Uptown Springdale is a mossy waterway. Three male NPCs (daytime) and one of Frogetmenot's followers can be found here,
Cat Square, accessed from the Shady Back Alley, features a human NPC and a trio of cats.
Mouse Alley, accessed in the far central east of Uptown Springdale, is empty aside from a yellow treasure box.
School Route, accessed in the Hidden Side Street, is empty aside from a yellow treasure box.
Main Street, that can be accessed from the staircase north-east of the bike shop in Blossom Heights, houses an NPC called Dr. Sewered and one of Frogetmenot's followers. Midday, Dr. Sewered will be teaching children about the sewers and at night he will talk about searching for a hidden manhole.
The Yo-kai Parade Mural, accessed from the Academy Shortcut, features wild Yo-kai and the titular mural on the wall.
The Kaos March Mural is accessed from the Delivery Bay and the player must use the Yo-kai Watch on it before entering to find and move a sleeping Slumberhog. Despite its different name, it features the same mural as the Yo-kai Parade Mural waterway as well as one of Frogetmenot's Followers and a yellow treasure box.
Downtown Wetside, accessed in the far central-west of Downtown Springdale, features neon signs, an NPC playing guitar to a crowd of animals in the day and two people having a dance off at night as well as one of Frogetmenot's followers.
Bracing Path, accessed in the Shopping Street Narrows, features a group of construction workers, a follower of Frogetmenot, and a yellow treasure box.
The Breezy Hills Byway houses an old woman who will give the player a key to Tranquility Apartments saying it was where she once lived. It is initially blocked by a Rank B watch lock.
