Supyo (Japanese: なみガッパ, Namigappa) is a Rank A, Water-attribute Rare Yo-kai of the Charming tribe introduced in Yo-kai Watch.

In Yo-kai Watch: Wibble Wobble, he is one of the Yo-kai required to unlock Slurpent.

Supyo is similar to Appak. The leaf that brims the bowl on his head is sky blue. It even has a yellow bead at the end. He wears navy-colored samurai pants. The necklace's teardrop bead is pink. He fights with a sword made of water.

Supyo appears in the ocean by Rolling Waves Park in Downtown Springdale during the day.

He can also be freed from the Crank-a-kai with a Pink Coin.

Supyo can rarely appear in spots near the ocean at San Fantastico at any time.

Etymology

• "Supyo" is a play on the phrase, "Sup, yo?"
• "Namigappa" translates as "wave kappa."
• "Kapparfista" is a combination of kappa and surfista (surfer.)
• "Wassgeht" is a play on the phrase, "Was geht?" and translates to "What's up?". The "Wass" part could be a play on "Wasser" (water).
• "Kappasurf" is a combination of kappa and surf
• "Chōnglàng hétóng" means Surf Kappa.
• "Tavolama" is a combination of "tavola" (board) and "lama" (blade).

Origin

Based on his habitat, Supyo could be inspired by a kappa subspecies named garappa, which lives in the Kyushu region by the sea as opposed to its riverbound cousins. Compared to them, they are thinner and have abnormally long limbs, and emit a pungent smell. During the autumn season, they retire to the mountains and enjoy playing pranks on humans. Besides these distinctions, they are otherwise similar to kappa in appearance and habits.
