Tatsumi-kawabata - South (Japanese: 龍見川端 • 南, Ryū mi Kawabata• minami) is an area in Sakura Motomachi, located below Sakuragi Hills, that appears in Yo-kai Watch Shadowside and Yo-kai Watch 4. It is the location of the school that Summer Adams, Cole and Isabelle go to.

Places of interest

Sakura Middle School

The school that Summer, Cole and Isabelle go to is located here. The gymnasium is the location of the fight against Lady Arachnia and where the player can re-fight her. Post game, Theo and Ganryuu can be found here. Hare-onna/Ame-onna can be found at the front of the school after completing her quest and allows the player to change the weather.

Inari Shrine

The Inari Shrine is located next to the school. Inari is the guardian of it. Kyubi and Krystal Fox can be found here.

Soba Shop

A Soba Shop can be found here. It sells Soba, Udon and Tempura.

Yo-kai Sumo Ring

Yo-kai Watch Shadowside the Movie: The Return of the Oni King

Tatsumi-kawabata - South first appears when Summer is first introduced, and is going to school, as she notices a child drowning, and saves him. She remembers when she was drowning and was saved by a mysterious figure. Saki catches up to her, as Summer says she can't ride the bus to school soaked, and decides to walk to school. She then notices Cole walking to school.

Yo-kai Watch Shadowside series

Tatsumi-kawabata - South is the location of the school Summer, Cole and Isabelle go to.

It first appears in the anime series at the end of SS001, when Ganryuu, the teacher of Summer's class, introduces Theo to the class. He strangely describes the class as "all you humans".

It reappears in SS015, as Isabelle is transferred into Class A. She quickly gets a fan club as she shows her skills in sports, impressing Summer and Cole. Later, Summer talks to her.

In SS017, half of the boys in Cole's class were missing at school that day, while Summer found out from Saki that they were using an ouija board the previous day, causing Summer and Cole to head to the Detective Agency.

Later in the episode, Summer, Cole, Bruno and Tate head to the Inari Shrine with Kyubi. They find out that the tofu shop owner has been cleaning the shrine, but she's quitting both because of her age. Inari then attacks the group, saying "Give me your bodies". After seeing Kyubi, she changes back to her Lightside and explains that the old lady was the only one who cleaned her shrine, and says she was taking people's bodies to make people go to her shop to repay her, since her husband had passed away and she can't leave the shrine, since she was the shrine guardian.

The next day, Summer helped the now retired tofu shop owner to use an ouija board to summon Inari, who said "Thanks for the fried tofu". The day after, the shrine was torn down, meaning Inari could live with the retired tofu shop owner.
