  • So according to the summery of the upcoming first episode of Yo-kai Watch!, The summery said like Nate would start over his Yo-kai journey. But I heard rumors that it would be set where the original series had left off which would be a continuity of the Original Series, but here, he would start over.

The writers would say that they would start over Nate's Yo-kai adventures and he had to start over befriending Jibanyan & Whisper along with his other Yo-kai friends and going into their journey in a different way, just like Pokemon: I Choose You! Movie where it was set in a different timeline where Ash meets his pal, Pikachu in a different way, going into their journey just between the two of them (Without Brock & Misty), and they had an attempt to meet Ho-Oh. They would make the Yo-kai Watch Elda as Nate's first watch and get rid of his previous watches, making them not existing in that timeline. They would even of Hailey Anne and USA-Pyon as well. (Plz don't get rid of USA-Pyon)

But if they continue where they had left off, Nate would still be upset to Jibanyan about what happened in the last episode and just giving up his adventures for now where Jibanyan & Whisper would convince Nate to continune his Yo-kai journey.

Will it be set in a different timeline or they will continue where they had left off?

    • Was it really necessary to screenshot something from this very wiki...?

But anyways. I added it in recently but another version of the same summary from a different magazine had an extra line that was like "Could Keita have forgotten about Yo-kai?!" so I'm pretty certain it's continuing the timeline after 214 but in the form of a cop-out reboot so they can start on a fresh slate.

What happened at the end of 214 wouldn't matter anyways since it's just a slapstick ending. If it had continued right off there without the series ending it'd just be back to status quo.

Exactly... let's not forget about Whisper and Jibanyan's Backstories from the first Japanese season, and were renditioned in YW2... if they discard the original continuity, then these two backstories are to be gone as well...

    • So it seems that Keita, or Nate had forgotten about Yo-kai huh. I wonder what happened? Maybe his old watches has disappeared for some reason.

    • Maybe Kin and Gin come back. If that's the case either they turned back time, things go down diffferently, yada yada, or steal his watch, wipe his memory, yada yada.

I highly doubt that since it'd be kinda a cop-out because they had that as a main plot for the 1st movie

    • The OG Yo-kai Watch ending is the Seinfiled of anime endings

This is mostly a result of writing oneself in a corner since we have to figure out how the Yo-kai Watch Switch from the Ark system to Medals and vice versa.

Just a thought in the prolouge to the 4th movie it's mentioned that the Yo-kai Watch is a threat to the balance between human and Yo-kai world, well Yopple basically mass produced these in masse and it's one of those things like 3 Yo-kai Watchs are enough but to many of them will cause some disator on the two worlds. Maybe that's how Kaira convinced the seven sages to help him overthrow Enma and why Yopple dosen't exist in Shadowside

We don't fully know that Yopple doesn't exist in Shadowside (It only appeared in 1 episode in the OG anyways)

    • Judging from the recap shown at the end of SS049, it definately looks like the Yokai are trying to remind him who they are rather than meeting him for the first time. Wazzat is also sitting on his head, so he has something to do with it.
