Whisper (Japanese: ウィスパー Wisupā) is a Yo-kai and one of the main characters of the manga series. He met Katie in ND001.

Whisper is a marshmallow-like white ghost with a curved black mask-like mark connecting his eyes. He has blue lips. The upper lip vaguely resembles a mustache. The top of Whisper's head resembles a small swirled ice cream-shaped wisp.
History[]
Whisper first debuts in ND001. After Katie is scared by a plush cat that jumps to life, she knocks over a capsule on the table, breaking it and freeing Whisper. After Katie tried to flee the store in fear, Whisper gave chase with Jibanyan. He introduced himself as her Yo-kai Butler, while pleading with her to stop running. After getting her to stop, he explained that Yo-kai are everywhere, and that there are good and bad Yo-kai. He then gave her a Yo-kai Watch, encouraging her to use it. Katie found Roughraff, who creeped her out. He then told Katie that they want her to be a bridge between humans and Yo-kai. After Katie attemps to call the cops on Jibanyan, Whisper pleads her to stop. Katie then accepts them and obtains Jibanyan's Yo-kai Medal. Later that night, Whisper and Jibanyan reveal they'll be staying in the Forester House with Katie.
In ND002, Whisper sees Nate for the first time while he, Katie and Jibanyan are walking to school. Whisper immediately asks Katie if he's her girlfriend. She immediately denies this, and says it would be boring to go on a date with Nate right in front of him. After Katie asks if there are other Yo-kai, Whisper confirms this and says some Yo-kai like playing tricks on people, especially simple-minded people. When Nate is inspirited by Dazzabel, Whisper urges her to use the Yo-kai Watch. He later joins in with Katie and Jibanyan when they wear dresses to impress Dazzabel.
In ND006, after Katie finds Venoct, Whisper searches him up on the Yo-kai Pad and finds out he's an S-Rank Yo-kai, which shocks both him and Jibanyan. He explains the Yo-kai ranks to Katie, the fact of which depresses her. He points out to her that they should focus on Venoct, who mutters "fish", causing the three of them to start fishing to feed him. When Katie asks Venoct to do her chores, Whisper is amazed that she's taking advantage of an S-Rank Yo-kai. After Katie later asks if Venoct wants to be her friend, Whisper and Jibanyan are shocked, and are even more shocked when he accepts.
In ND007, Katie, Whisper and Jibanyan wonder what Venoct meant after he left, saying to be careful of a fox. Whisper tells her about what the Yo-kai World is, though she falls asleep while he explains.
In ND008, Whisper, Katie and Jibanyan notice Komasan getting mugged by Roughraff. Later, he tries to calm down Jibanyan when Komasan is on Katie's lap. When Komasan tells them he wants to stop being scared, Whisper suggests to Katie to summon a Yo-kai. He participates in the game later, and scares Komasan.
In ND009, Whisper and Jibanyan accompany Katie to Mt. Wildwood's summer festival. After seeing Nate, Bear and Eddie acting chatty, Whisper tells Katie they're showing their true colors outside of school. He then tells her anything could happen during a summer festival, even romance. Later, when Jibanyan is trying to get a Next HarMEOWny photo book in a shooting gallery, he tells him that they wouldn't see him if they could, and they should meet back up with Katie. Despite this, neither Whisper nor Jibanyan appear in ND009.5.
Personality[]
As shown in ND015, Whisper's goal is helping Katie befriend all the world's Yo-kai, as well as helping her become a bridge between humans and Yo-kai. Unlike the anime, but like the first Yo-kai Watch game, Whisper is quick to blame Yo-kai when trouble arises.
