Before the episode begins, Naokiman gives a basic introduction to the viewers about unidentified flying objects, and details the history of the sightings coming in many different shapes.

On a mountain road, a younger Ranto Kirigakure with his sister and parents are on a driving trip but Ranto's mother soon notices a circular glowing shape in the sky which soon submerges into a UFO. They all stop the car in the middle of the road to take a closer look, but they are all unexpectedly blinded, flashing it to the present-day where Ranto is shown enrolling in his first year at Y-Academy.

Back at the present day, Tsutomu explains to Ranto that the YSP Club has earned the highest spot for approval at Y Academy, due to them managing to solve the Seven Academy Mysteries and broadening their popularity as of a result. After finding out that if it has even surpassed the UFO Research Club, Ranto disapproves of their doings making Tsutomu suggest to shut them down. Ranto asks him how they managed to solve the mysteries, where Tsutomu reveals that he's done some research showing that they own a YSP Watch, allowing them to transform into Yo-kai Heroes.

Principal Kinya Daiouji calls the YSP Club members (with the exception of Mera and Kyubi) to his office where they both discuss an important request after solving all seven of the mysteries. He asks them to investigate a mysterious monument called the Y-Circle, calling it the "biggest mystery ever" and getting Mataro interested despite not hearing of such a place.

Kinya goes on to explain that the Y-Circle mysteriously appeared back when the academy was being built thirty years ago, where attempts to demolish the building proved to be too sturdy for the construction team and was eventually left on it's own, due to the monument not being in the way of their construction. He also says that the name of the structure was given due to crop circles that appear on fields.

At the student council office, Tsutomu breaks the news of the YSP Club going to investigate the Y-Circle to Ranto. He is surprised of their doings after he says that his club has been investigating the place for over a year and hasn't managed to find any valuable information. Tsutomu tries to bring up the connection of the Seven Academy Mysteries, but makes Ranto realize something important. He goes over to the UFO Club room inside the campus building and asks the members if they have found some new information, where they both answer with some newly found information.

When Matarou, Jinpei, Sandayu, Mera and Fubuki make their way to the Y-Circle, they are all surprised at the structure while Ryusuke turns up after being ordered by Mrs. Enra. Kouji of the UFO Club reveals that they are now able to show what is inside the structure using radioactive projection, revealing seven wires connected to the door and seven circular sockets where he realizes they are suspiciously shaped like Y Medals.

Jinpei and Mera try to open the door, but they are both magnetically locked. Sandayu notices the seven holes on the door whilst Mataro suggests Jinpei to try and open them with the Y Medals he has collected from the Seven Academy Mysteries. Jinpei questions at first that they're only meant for the YSP Watch, but Mataro asks him to do it while Ranto overhears on their conversation. After Jinpei inserts the final Y Medal on the top of the door, the circles glow and open up.

Ranto's suspicions of them start to rise, after he implies that they have been hiding it from him all along. He has a sudden flashback to his younger years where he took an interest in UFO sightseeing, studying the shapes he read in a magazine before he notices a mysterious noise happening.

Inside the Y-Circle, they all find a giant triangular object in the middle of the room where they admire the futuristic design of the shape. They all suddenly hear a mysterious voice coming from it, where Ryusuke theorizes that it's a message from an ancient god, piquing interest from Fubuki and Mataro. The voice knows that they are worthy of the monument's powers and asks them what to do in order to fix it. In the middle of a seemingly-tired monologue, the voice explains that the world long ago was destroyed by a "strong force" and hopes that there will be a "power in this world" to oppose them.

The voice from the monument gives them a power to fight against the "force", Ranto thinks about what happened in the past where he was traumatized by his parents mysteriously disappearing, leaving a silhouette of their body behind and having the police to investigate the incident. This makes him think that the mysterious force that took his parents away may have built the place.

The tip on the triangular sculpture suddenly starts to glow, where it forms into a ball before landing on the ground and revealing a mysterious yellow cat-like being. It introduces herself as Yo-kai named Goromi, where Jinpei mistakens her for an Onryo but she frustratingly goes on to explain the difference. Goromi tells them that Onryo are born from spirits that are usually objects or humans, and go to Heaven if their desires can be met. She explains that Yo-kai are beings with permanent existence and have an identity of their own and are thus stronger than Onryo.

Mera asks why Goromi has come here, but she has mostly forgotten the reason thinking that somebody important asked her to go there. Goromi decides to come along with Jinpei and the others, despite him complaining about his mildly rude attitude. Suddenly, the top of the triangular sculpture starts to glow into a bright light, temporarily binding everyone inside the monument.

They are all suddenly transported outside, while Jinpei is disappointed at what was found in the Y-Circle. A group of UFO Club members surround them along with Ranto and Tasuto, and orders them to hand over the supposed object which was found inside the monument at gunpoint with stun guns. Ranto warns them that if they leave the place with the item, it would attract the attention of "them" which would put the YSP Club in danger of their lives. Sandayu asks what they are, where Ranto answers that they know so much about them and has the power to go against it.

Much to their confusion, Goromi wanders off from the YSP Club members and goes by Ranto's side based on his appearance but after Jinpei tries dragging them away, a UFO with a light shaped like an "N" suddenly emerges from the sky in front of everyone where Ranto recognizes the shape of it.

Many years ago, Ranto is shown going to a café where he meets up with Yousuke Kimura who is a reporter of a magazine. He asks the reporter for information about the glowing object after he has taken photos of them, where he offers Ranto to provide information about a thief in exchange, accepting his offer. Ranto tells Yousuke that he had become the leader of a street gang, where he gathered information on the thief with the help of his colleagues.

Yousuke rejects Ranto's offer based on his age, but he says that others are against Yousuke in the business due to him being fired over a small mistake he made in a news report and was assigned a different job and assumes that he is looking for a big news story in hopes of Yousuke getting his reputation back. Yousuke truthfully accepts Ranto's offer and asks him to provide with information he has found about UFOs. While Ranto was leaving the café, Yousuke asks why he wants the information, but he refuses to tell his reasoning.

After a heated exchange with the UFO, Ranto orders everyone to evacuate the area but the YSP Club members stay and encounter some alien-like creatures emerging from it. With no other choice, they decide to fight despite Ranto warning them of their power and transform into Yo-kai Heroes with the exception of Sandayu. They prove to be too quick for them, and unleash an attack that drastically weaken and take away their Yo-kai Hero forms.

Goromi steps into the front lines and hands Jinpei some of her Y Medals so he could fight the aliens with them. After combining his powers with Goromi, Jinpei transforms into a new Yo-kai Hero called Wild Boy. He fires the aliens with his dual guns, managing to defeat them but more keep coming and uses a Command Medal to increase the power of them. The aliens combine their power to transform into Big Black powered by Grey Agent on top, where he traps Wild Boy with goo.

Ranto notices Grey Agent on top of Big Black, where he notices that a creature with "big black eyes" took away his parents in the incident that happened when he was young. As the younger Ranto watched his sister sink into her silhouetted outline, he notices the same alien. Ranto decides that it was his turn to get his revenge and brings out an Alien Watch, where Mrs. Enra comes into the scene and explains that it's an unknown type of watch. Ranto transforms into Mist Shadow with his Alien Watch, which proves to be an unexpected occurrence for Mataro.

During yet another flashback, Ranto shows his friend Kumako Kumoike the circuit that was discovered at the UFO site where she explains that it is capable of rearranging the molecular structure various different things. Out of the possibilities Ranto thinks of, Kumako shows Ranto that the circuit is capable of turning a regular person into a hero, giving them strength and power.

Mist Shadow determinedly gets his back on Big Black by jumping onto his face and kicking him rapidly, while everyone else is amazed at the immense strength he has. When Mist Shadow sets Wild Boy free from the goo, they both combine their powers and successfully manage to defeat Big Black. When Jinpei celebrates his victory, the light from the UFO suddenly shines onto everybody with the exception of Ranto, where he uses the Alien Watch to protect himself while the light slowly expands and covers the entire area.

All of a sudden, everybody except for Ranto has lost their memories while Nayu Kuruhoshi is seen conversing with Mr. Usumizawa, with the former claiming their appearance and existence entertaining. The next day at the student council meeting, Tsutomu reveals that his memories hadn't been erased and discusses of a plan to lure the YSP Club into learning more about their powers due to them taking interest in UFOs.

As Tsutomu rigs the test scores of the YSP Club members so they could land into Akatentraz to fight an Onryo, Ranto looks out of the window in the same vein as he did when was younger hoping that he will find the truth.
